Jan Virgili's future remains undecided. Negotiations with Mallorca are reportedly stalled, and the player prioritizes leaving Barça.
The summer transfer market culminates on September 1st, and Jan Virgili remains at FC Barcelona. Initially, it was expected that the left winger would leave the Catalan team, but evidently, nothing has changed.
It was already mentioned that the forward does not want to be part of Barça Atlétic, which will play this season in Segunda RFEF, a category that Virgili considers not to be at his level.
Therefore, the 19-year-old attacker believes that the time has come to take a leap in his career. However, his possible departure today seems stalled, although this does not mean that it cannot happen in the next few hours, according to recent rumors.
At Barça, they consider Jan Virgili a player with a lot of potential, and if he ends up leaving, they do not want to part with him entirely. However, no team is quite making a firm move for him.
Barça and Mallorca do not understand each other for Jan Virgili
In this sense, one of the teams that has shown the most interest in the '7' of Barça Atlétic is RCD Mallorca. Despite this, negotiations between the clubs for Jan Virgili remain stalled.
Thus, the Barcelona team firmly maintains its position of demanding 4 million euros for half, that is, 50% of the forward's rights, in addition to a buy-back clause that allows them to recover the player at a reasonable cost in the future.
For its part, the 'bermellón' club would have put on the table an offer of around two million, a proposal that does not satisfy the expectations of Deco, sports director of Barça.
This is why Virgili's file remains open in the sports management offices. For now, the player lives in Barça Atlétic, with whom he was runner-up in the Intercontinental U-20 after drawing 2-2 in regular time and subsequently falling 6-5 on penalties against Flamengo.
It is worth remembering that one of the outstanding players of the match was the native of Vilassar del Mar, who was in charge of scoring a great goal to tie the match.
In recent days, both Almería and Benfica would have joined the clubs interested in the young promise who has a contract with Barça until 2027. It remains to be seen how his story ends when the summer market ends.
The first team, a distant possibility for Jan Virgili
Although the forward believes he has everything to be part of the first team under the orders of Hansi Flick, the arrivals of Marcus Rashford and Roony Barghji closed the doors to this possibility.
However, a favorable scenario for Jan could be that the 2025/26 season will indeed be long and he could receive a call from the German strategist, considering the fact that there will be constant rotations or, in a bad scenario, a player could get injured, opening a space for the '7'.
