Calendar of FC Barcelona

Lamine Yamal already had the opportunity to address the media as the brand new '10' of FC Barcelona. The Spanish-Moroccan right winger did so from the Barça Store, in a special act full of symbolism.

Firstly, among the statements he gave, he did not hesitate to make clear his feelings about having finalized this historic renewal with the Blaugrana team:

"I think what this renewal means is that I will continue at the club of my life, that I will continue enjoying and winning because Barça is the best club in the world. I don't feel pressure, I am very happy and now it's time to enjoy, with a different number, but with the same goals," he commented.

He also expressed his expectations of having a very long and fruitful relationship with the Catalan team: "Renewing with Barcelona until 2031 is a great step. It is the beginning of a path that I hope will be very long and full of victories. We hope to enjoy even more than last year and hopefully be able to fulfill my dreams here."

The Rocafonda native also explained whether, for him, wearing the '10' shirt of the Barcelona club now represents any specific pressure:

"Messi has made his way and I am going to make mine. The '10' comes from Ansu now, so I will do my thing, I will try to enjoy it to the fullest and make all the 'culers' happy. Messi, Maradona and Ronaldinho are three legends of football and of this club; everyone dreams of having something of them," he warned.

Similarly, he admitted to having fulfilled a dream by now being the bearer of the '10' shirt of FC Barcelona: "When I was little, my dream was to debut with Barça, to grow and play with the '10'. Every child who has been born in Barcelona dreams of that. I am very grateful to the club for trusting me, for giving it to me, and now to show what I am and to leave it at the top."

He was also asked how he manages the praise he receives at his young age. His response, full of maturity, was clear:

"Both criticism and praise, if they are not from my family or friends, are indifferent to me. What matters to me is to enjoy, and now I am already focused on football."

Clear goals: Champions League, World Cup and growth

Lamine Yamal gives the impression of being very clear about his goals for the future, both with Barcelona and with the Spanish national team, showing a firm sporting ambition:

"I haven't won the Champions League, so my challenge is to win it. And also the World Cup. We have to keep growing because we are a very young team, but also enjoy, because when we all enjoy, the world is happier, we play better and we win," he acknowledged.

His relationship with Hansi Flick and the 'culé' dressing room

In addition to this, the new '10' 'culé' spoke about the conversation he had with Hansi Flick before the event, revealing a good understanding with the German coach:

"Flick has told me that tomorrow there is a double session and to sleep early. Everyone has congratulated me, we are a very united dressing room, we are like a family and I am very grateful to them, because without them I would not be here," he said.

Lamine wanted to dedicate some special words to his grandmother Fátima, whose presence at the ceremony was essential: "The event had been delayed because of her, because she was in Morocco, and I could not do something so special for me without her. She sees that I am happy and I am happy. Thank her for what she has done for me, for what she continues to do, and I am going to try to give her back everything she has done, although I will never be able to," he emphasized.

About his private life: "I enjoy outside the field"

To close the press conference, Lamine was questioned about his life off the field, after the rumors surrounding his birthday party: "I work for Barça and I play for Barça, but when I am outside the Sports City I enjoy my life," said the 'culé' jewel.
