The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, gave several interviews to international media during the 'azulgrana' team's tour of Japan and South Korea, within the framework of the 2025/26 preseason. In this journey, the Catalan team has already played matches against Vissel Kobe (1-3) and FC Seoul (3-7).

The 'culé' president had an intervention on the international network CNN, where he did not miss the opportunity to talk about a topic that keeps all Barcelona fans expectant: will Barça make more signings in this summer market? A matter that Laporta did not avoid answering.

Laporta acknowledges that Barcelona needs more signings due to demand and wear

"As a club, we have to have more players than usual, and that means we have to invest more and do our best to have a more competitive squad," he began by saying about the option of Barcelona making some more additions after the arrivals of Joan García, Roony Bardghji and Marcus Rashford.

Likewise, Laporta explained the reason why the panorama has opened up regarding the arrival of new players in this summer window: "We have very talented players, but they are also human beings, and there is a limit. They need time to rest and enjoy, and I think that is something to take into account," he emphasized.

This change of direction contrasts with the idea that Jan had raised in previous interviews, when he saw it unlikely that Barcelona would make more signings in this summer window for the 2025/26 season. However, with these statements, the door inevitably opens to new additions.

In another order of ideas, and referring to one of Barcelona's additions this summer, Marcus Rashford, Laporta also dedicated a few words: "We signed this player because he had a great commitment to come to Barcelona. He is fast, strong, committed and did everything possible to sign for Barcelona. He pressured his agent, spoke with the club and, at the same time, with Manchester United," he praised his sporting conditions and highlighted the striker's commitment to join the Catalan team this year.
