The sports management of FC Barcelona has fully decided that Lautaro Martínez should be the '9' of the Barça team from next summer. The continuous injuries of Luis Suárez, his age (33 years) and his contract (ends in 2021 although extendable for another year) make a generational replacement essential. The Argentine (22 years old) is the priority option.

Despite being a complicated operation, it seems that a major change of scenery may occur in the following weeks. It is true that Lautaro feels very comfortable at Inter Milan in terms of sports, but, according to information published by the newspaper Sport this Sunday, the Argentine would be willing to reject outright the offer to renew the Italian team.

It should be borne in mind that Lautaro is a key player for Antonio Conte, but that he will activate a 111 million-euro termination clause that next summer that Inter wants to strike down through a new contract that improves the Argentine's conditions. Today, his salary is 2 million euros, while the renewal offer would double it to raise it to 4.

The previously mentioned media outlet assures that Lautaro would reject these conditions since he has much higher offers on the table and, although he is grateful and comfortable at Inter, he is not willing to lose money either. Without going any further, the Italian press recently assured that Barça's offer would reach practically 7 'kilos' annually and that, despite the fact that in the Premier League they also offer succulent amounts, the player prefers to wear Barça.

Lautaro, by exchange

Inter Milan do not want to sell a footballer whom they consider their star. The Catalans have the option to pay their termination clause, which will be 111 million euros next June, but this price is too high considering the losses due to the coronavirus crisis. Barça will need Lautaro himself to continue without giving in the renewal, as well as for Inter to accept an exchange of players.

So far, there are several Barça footballers who have transcended as possible exchanges: Arturo Vidal, Nélson Semedo, Arthur Melo or Philippe Coutinho are some of the most interesting to the Lombard team. Although, we reiterate, the key aspect for the 'neroazzurro' group to agree to negotiate is that Lautaro himself press and ask to leave.
