Marc Casadó could leave Barça and migrate to the Bundesliga, as long as the midfielder agrees to negotiate with other clubs. Will the 'culés' sell him?
Marc Casadó's present with FC Barcelona has caught the attention of one of the breakthrough teams in European football in recent times, such as Bayer Leverkusen. The youth player played 36 games and scored 1 goal in the last season with Hansi Flick's team.
In addition, the player from Sant Pere de Vilamajor played minutes in all the matches of the Asian tour, entering from the bench in the complementary part in each of the games in Japan and South Korea.
However, the competition for a place in the center of the field will be very tough. With Frenkie de Jong and Gavi in great form, along with the return of Marc Bernal, Casadó will have a much harder time earning a place in Flick's XI.
Barça does not rule out making money with Marc Casadó this summer
The young midfielder was one of the players who earned the respect of the 'culé' fans for his performance on the field, in addition to being a valuable alternative for De Jong and Gavi in the initial stretch of 24/25, when both, along with Bernal, were in the 'azulgrana' infirmary.
Beyond being a valuable piece for the coaching staff, the income from the possible sale of Marc Casadó would be of great help to Barça's coffers, although it would be a sensitive loss for the 'culé' squad.
According to 'Transfermarkt', the youth player is valued at 30 million euros, a figure that Erik ten Hag's team would be willing to pay, who wants to put together a team to compete with Bayern Munich this season and emulate what Xabi Alonso achieved in 23/24. At the moment, the release clause of the '17' remains fixed at 100 'kilos'.
Casadó's link with Barça is until 2028. The player born in San Pere de Vilamajor is happy to stay at the club, so only the payment of his clause would take him away from his home. He is focusing on completing his preseason, although his continuity is not guaranteed due to the high competition in his position.
For its part, Leverkusen has a lot of money in the bank thanks to the transfers of Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong, whose departures left 165 million in the German coffers. Even so, the board does not seem willing to make large outlays this summer.
Leverkusen will continue signing, but without spending too much
Beyond this, the transfer of Granit Xhaka to Sunderland, conditioned the German team for 25/26. Although they received 20 million euros, Leverkusen was left without its main piece in the center of the field. This is the reason why the Dutch coach is pressing for them to sign a player with Casadó's characteristics.
At the moment, the club's most expensive reinforcement in the summer market is the attacking midfielder Malik Tillmam. The former PSV Eindhoven player returned to Germany in exchange for 35 M€, the same amount that the aspirin club paid Liverpool for the central defender Jarell Quansah. Will Marc Casadó be Ten Hag's next target?
