FC Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski could go their separate ways in 2026. The forward is currently in the last year of his contract and, at 37 years old with a high salary, his departure next summer seems a foregone conclusion. However, should he continue to deliver goals on the field, the '9' will keep the debate about his future open.
On Sunday, Lewandowski was the MVP of the victory against Celta (2-4) with a hat-trick that allowed him to reach 108 goals in 159 games for the Catalan team. Although injuries have hampered his performance in recent months, the Polish international remains one of the most lethal strikers in Europe

"I don't know if I'll be able to match last year's numbers, when I'm on the field, the goals per minute are similar to last season," the Warsaw native pointed out.
Thus, Lewandowski's future at Barça looks set to be decided in the first few months of 2026. Robert is currently the highest-paid player on the squad (26 million net) and, if he renews, he will have to accept a significant salary adjustment.
