The summer transfer market is entering its last days of enablement and with it the clubs are starting to accelerate transfers. Thus, one of the recent movements in the current transfer window is Loïc Badé to Bayer Leverkusen after a two-and-a-half-season spell at Sevilla CF.

The French international is expected to undergo a medical with his new team in the coming hours and sign a contract that will link him to the German team for seasons (until 2039).

The player has already said goodbye to his teammates from the 'blanquirrojo' team amidst anecdotes and smiles. In this way, FC Barcelona also sees how a future incorporation in the rear area escapes.

Loïc Badé leaves and Sevilla celebrates a perfect business

The 25-year-old center-back has a value on Transfermarkt of 25 million euros. However, Sevilla managed to get more out of the native of Sèvres, for whom they paid 12 'kilos' in the summer of 2023, after incorporating him on loan in the winter, coming from Rennes. As a 'rojiblanco' player he conquered the UEFA Europa League 2022/23.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Sevillian team closed its departure for a figure that reaches 29 M€ plus 4 in variables. Also, the player, apparently, will receive a significant salary improvement.

In addition, Erik ten Hag, the new Leverkusen coach, has managed to convince the defender by guaranteeing him a leading role in the defense of a team with European aspirations.

Thus, the German team will compete for all the titles at stake, always with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund as the main rivals in the fight for dominance in the Bundesliga.

Badé, the defender who escapes: Barça lets a safe option pass

Although the azulgrana team, for the moment, has the defensive zone well covered with Pau Cubarsí, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Eric García and Jules Koundé.

And although now the last two mentioned now play in the right back demarcation, they are naturally defenders; it is still striking that the Catalan club has not sounded out Badé in this transfer window.

It should be remembered that the Frenchman during the 2024/25 season participated in 31 matches for Sevilla (2,777 minutes), in which he scored 1 goal and distributed 1 assist, while in 23/24 he played 33 matches.

Barça let pass, for now, the opportunity to incorporate a player with good aerial play, in addition to a great ability to win in hand-to-hand combat, becoming one of the most solid defenders in the Spanish league in the last two seasons.
