Alexander Isak is wanted by Arsenal and Chelsea. The Blues want to secure his signing and would offer 100 million euros to Newcastle
Despite the fact that the signing of a '9' is no longer a priority for FC Barcelona for next summer, the Catalan club is keeping an eye on the centre forward market. Erling Haaland and Viktor Gyökeres appear as the favourites for the Catalans, but with Robert Lewandowski's continuity practically assured, their signings have become relatively remote possibilities.
For this reason, the sporting management is analysing alternatives for the attack and another Nordic scorer appears on the horizon. This is Alexander Isak, a footballer who has been on the club's agenda for a couple of summers and whose situation at Newcastle has once again aroused the interest of the Catalans.
And the Swedish player is not sure about his future at St. James' Park, which is why several of the continent's big teams have begun to move their pieces to secure his services in the next summer window.
Arsenal and Chelsea lead the race for Isak
Apart from Barça, Arsenal and Chelsea are also reportedly keeping a close eye on Isak, who is aiming to be the star of a 'London derby' in the club's offices. The Gunners are willing to do whatever is necessary to get the striker to work under Mikel Arteta, but Stamford Bridge intends to get ahead in the 'bidding' and would offer 100 million euros for his transfer.
This is reported by 'SPORT', where they maintain that Enzo Maresca considers him the ideal piece to complete his forward line. If the operation ends up rising to these figures, in Barcelona, with almost all certainty, they would give up on his incorporation, since the Catalans do not intend to make an outlay of this magnitude for a player who would not be an undisputed starter in the short term.
