Lookman: A TOP winger for Barça for less than 30 million

FC Barcelona is looking for speed and imbalance on the left. Is Lookman the solution? Discover why he is sounding so strong
One of the great slogans of FC Barcelona heading into the 2025/26 summer market will be to explore the option of signing a top-level left winger. The objective is to reinforce an area of the field in which, during the past year, Raphinha played, although with a tactical contribution different from that of a pure winger. The Porto Alegre player, with a tendency to constantly drop through the middle, used to leave the lane free for the full-back —like Alejandro Balde— to exploit it.
In this context, there are several names that the Barça sports management is considering, the most prominent being those of Nico Williams (Athletic Club) and Luis Díaz (Liverpool). However, they are not the only ones.
Other more 'hidden' candidates also appear on the culé agenda, but that does not mean they have fewer options to wear the Barça shirt.
Hansi Flick proposes Ademola Lookman as a 'low cost' alternative
According to 'ElNacional.cat', the coach of the Condal City team, Hansi Flick, would have suggested the name of Ademola Lookman, current forward of Atalanta BC, as an attractive and economically viable option to reinforce the offensive front of Barça.
An international with Nigeria, Lookman is 27 years old and closed the season with 20 goals and seven assists in 40 matches. He was one of the stellar names of Gian Piero Gasperini's sports project at 'La Dea'. He is a player with:
- Verticality
- Explosiveness
- With overflow
- Scoring ability
- Versatility
Although this season he has mostly played as an attacking midfielder, he has demonstrated solvency both on the left and right wings. This versatility makes him an especially valuable option for a Barcelona that seeks versatility in its attack.
How much would it cost Barcelona to sign Lookman? The figures at stake
The culé team would have to evaluate whether they are willing to present an economically attractive offer for Lookman. His departure price is not entirely clear: while in Italy there is talk of 60-65 million euros, other sources assert that he could leave for an amount close to 30 'kilos'. The forward's contract ends on June 30, 2026 and, for now, it is more common to hear rumors of a possible departure than of a renewal.
However, despite the rumors of departure, a renewal with Atalanta cannot be completely ruled out. The main obstacle to his continuity was the tense relationship with Gasperini, but with the Italian coach out of the picture, the probabilities of extending his link have increased.
Of course, any renewal would imply a salary increase, since he currently receives just €2.3 million gross per season. Numbers far from the high range of 'La Dea's' payroll.
Will Barcelona make a move for Lookman?
The only thing that is clear, according to 'ElNacional.cat', is that FC Barcelona already has Lookman on its radar and his characteristics are positively valued by the sports management. For now, no formal movements have taken place, but his incorporation is considered a real option, as long as the economic conditions allow it.
The big question is whether Barcelona will prioritize the incorporation of Ademola Lookman this summer. Everything will depend on the economic pretensions of the Bergamo club and the willingness of the azulgranas to match the offer that is made.
In turn, there is competition: clubs such as Atlético de Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus would also be after the Nigerian forward, which could complicate the operation for the culés.
