The operation that will move Ludovit Reis from Hamburg to Bruges will allow Barça to invoice a percentage agreed in 2021. In total, the 'culés' would receive 1.5 million for the transfer
Everything is going in the best way for FC Barcelona to continue making money thanks to the transfer of former 'culé' players for whom the board reserved percentages of their rights. Such is the case of Ludovit Reis, a Dutch midfielder, who had a brief stint at Barça.
The 25-year-old player was part of the 'blaugrana' entity —coming from Groningen— during the 2019/2020 season, joining the Barça Atlètic squad, where he played 1,427 minutes in 25 matches, adding a couple of assists.
Subsequently, in October 2020 he was loaned to VfL Osnabrück, a team in the second division of Germany, which at that time took over the player's file, who had signed with the 'azulgrana' team for three seasons, with the option of extending it to two more, that is, until 2024, for a total of €3.2 million.
After his time at Osnabrück, Ludovit Reis ended up leaving for Hamburg SV in 2021, also in the German second tier, with a free transfer. With this team, Barcelona agreed that, if a future sale was completed, the 'culés' would receive a percentage (25%) of the operation.
Barça prepares to receive a 'pinch' thanks to Ludovit Reis
Four years later, awaiting the official announcement, according to the latest information, Reis has everything agreed to become a new player for Bruges of Belgium. Therefore, the midfielder would definitively leave Hamburg.
In this sense, the native of Haarlem leaves a sensitive loss in the German team, being a fundamental part of a team that managed to ascend to the first division for the 2025/26 season.
Reis played 129 matches for HSV, scoring 20 goals and providing 13 assists. Now, he will sign for four seasons —until 2029— with Bruges.
On the other hand, despite his short stay at Barça, he was part of two calls with the first team, but he did not play a single minute in these opportunities. One of them was the famous 8-2 that the 'culés' suffered against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
How much will Barcelona receive for the sale of Ludovit Reis?
If Reis's signing for Bruges is completed, FC Barcelona will obtain 25% of his sale, that is, around €1.5 million, out of the 6 million that the Belgian team is expected to receive.
In principle, Hamburg and Bruges agreed to the payment of €6 million, but then the Germans raised their request to 7.5 'kilos', to which the Belgian team flatly refused.
In this way, the operation will close at 6 'kilos' of which Hamburg will receive €4.5 million, while the 1.5 million corresponding to the percentage of future sale agreed in 2021 will enter the coffers of Barça.
