Luis Díaz doesn't hold back and talks about his future: Liverpool, Barça, or a surprise? The Colombian leaves everything open
Finally, Luis Díaz, left winger wanted by FC Barcelona and currently playing for Liverpool, has come forward with statements about his future. The Guajiro spoke at the press conference prior to the match between the Colombian national team and Peru (matchday 15 of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup), and although he was not forceful in his position, he made it clear that his situation remains open to several scenarios.
The Colombian winger began by thanking the 'Red' team for the treatment he has received since his arrival: "I am very happy at Liverpool, I have always said so. They have treated me very well since day one," he asserted.
However, 'Lucho' also dropped the 'bomb' and hinted that there are ongoing conversations with other teams, without giving specific names:
"We are in contact with Liverpool because we are talking to other clubs. The transfer market is opening, and it's normal. We are looking at what is best for us. I am waiting to see what might happen."
Renewal with Liverpool, another possibility on the table
However, he qualified this statement, which will surely worry the 'Scouser' fans, by admitting that he does not rule out the option of extending his stay at Anfield Road. He even emphasized that he would be delighted if a renewal materializes or if he stays until his current contract expires:
"If Liverpool offers me a good renewal or if I have to stay the two years I have left, I will be happy and content. It depends on them. I am here to decide what is best for my future."
FC Barcelona: the club best positioned to sign Luis Díaz
According to various sources, FC Barcelona would be the club best positioned to incorporate the 'Cafetero' winger. The Catalan club has already made preliminary contacts to gauge Luis Díaz's willingness to join the Barcelona sports project.

In turn, it is said that the 'Reds' would not be willing to let Luis Díaz leave for less than 85 million euros, an amount in line with his performance, and taking into account that his contract extends until June 30, 2027.
Is a new summer 'soap opera' brewing for the Colombian?
Everything points to Luis Díaz potentially being one of the protagonists of the summer market. Although Liverpool has made it clear that they will not facilitate his departure, pressure from other clubs and the Colombian's contractual situation could alter the landscape.
In the 2024/25 season, 'Lucho' has proven to be a key player for Arne Slot, adding 17 goals and eight assists in 50 appearances. Despite his importance, he remains one of the lowest-paid players in the squad, earning around €3.3 million net per year (according to Capology).
In addition to the interest from Barça, the Colombian has also been linked with Al Nassr, a Saudi club with the financial muscle to face an operation of this magnitude. However, the sporting appeal of that option seems far from what the winger is currently looking for.
