The market continues to move in relation to the young promises of FC Barcelona. On this occasion, the name pointed out is Noah Darvich, a jewel of German football who, after several seasons in the culé team, will apparently change his scenery this summer.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, from Sky Sports Germany, Darvich will be a new VfB Stuttgart player. He is expected to sign a contract with the Germans until 2029 and without a release clause.
Likewise, contrary to the policies that the Catalan team has been implementing recently in the transfers of young promises, this agreement would not include either a future repurchase option or a right of first refusal for Barcelona. Although it is not clear whether the club secured a percentage for a future sale of the young talent from Freiburg.
Darvich-Stuttgart: medical examination pending to close the transfer
The cited source suggests that there is already an agreement between all parties and that only Darvich needs to pass the corresponding medical examination, which is expected to take place soon. All this within the framework of a transaction whose transfer amount has not been disclosed, although the information emphasizes that it would be sealed for a "small amount".
In this sense, it remains to be seen how much the total amount of the operation will finally be. In principle, it is expected to be higher than the 2.5 million euros that FC Barcelona invested in the summer of 2023 to incorporate him from Freiburg.
The left-footed player arrived in Barcelona with the label of U-17 world champion and as one of the great young jewels of European football, for whom clubs such as Manchester City fought.
However, despite arriving with these credentials and with the promise of being a player with potential for the first team, he failed to make that leap. Although he was in some call-ups under the orders of Hansi Flick —three, to be exact— he could not make his longed-for debut in the top category of Barça football.
The German had an irregular role in Barça Atlètic
In Barça Atlètic, although he was a recurring name, he apparently never acquired that role of undisputed player for any of the coaches who directed him in the culé subsidiary: neither with Rafa Márquez, nor with Albert Sánchez, nor with Sergi Milà.
| SEASON | MATCHES | GOALS | ASSISTS | MIN. PLAYED |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023/24 | 21 | 1 | 2 | 720 |
| 2024/25 | 25 | - | 2 | 751 |
So, without having fully adapted to the football of the Barcelona club, and now that Barça Atlètic has fallen one competitive step after their relegation to the Segunda RFEF —a situation that has caused an exodus of several players from the culé academy—, this golden opportunity arises for Noah Darvich.
The German international will have the option of returning to his country and seeing action in the Bundesliga. This, with the added bonus of joining a Stuttgart that has shown that it does not hesitate when it comes to betting on the young talent it has at its disposal.
