This Tuesday, FC Barcelona has closed the signing of Martin Braithwaite as an alternative to cover the federation of Ousmane Dembélé due to his long-term injury. The Danish attacker, who can act both from end to left and from center forward, must choose which number he stays with until the end of the season and has several options.

According to the information published by the newspaper Sport, the number '19' - which was released after the departure of Carles Aleñá - is the most likely for the former Leganés striker. However, there are eight more alternatives in terms of free numbers in the squad and all of them would be very feasible options for the new signing culé, which in Butarque began wearing the '25' and this season dressed the '7'.

Precisely, these two alternatives would be possible for Braithwaite: the '7' was released last summer after the departure of Philippe Coutinho (most likely Antoine Griezmann inherits it next summer, leaving the '17' free) and '25 'He has no owner since the veteran Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen ended his contract with the Barca club and left as a free agent.

Other attractive options for Braithwaite could be the '14' - that Philippe Coutinho left free in the summer of 2018 when he changed it to the '7' and that Javier Mascherano or Thierry Henry had previously dressed him - or the mythical '6' by Xavi Hernández , which was released by Jean-Clair Todibo in January but, perhaps, would be rare to see in a striker.

There are still other alternatives for the new FC Barcelona striker: '12' is free since Rafinha Alcántara left for Celta de Vigo last August and '16' also has no owner since Moussa Wagué left for Nice this winter. Another option, although unlikely, would be the '11', free after the federation of Dembélé.

Braithwaite's previous numbers

These last two seasons, Braithwaite has worn the numbers '25' and '7' in Leganés, as we have explained above. In the Middlesbrough, the Danish attacker led the '10'; in the Girondins de Bordeaux he led the '9'; in Toulouse he dressed the '7' and the '9'; and in the Esbjerg he wore the '32'. In the selection, it takes the '11'.
