Gyökeres signed as an Arsenal player until the summer of 2030. In this way, the 'gunners' get the services of a player who scored 97 goals in two seasons.
The summer novel has finally come to an end. Arsenal has made the signing of Viktor Gyökeres official, from Sporting de Lisboa. The new '9' of the gunners signed a contract that will keep him in the Premier League until 2030.
Gyökeres joins Arsenal after the 'gunners' reached an agreement with the Portuguese team to take the center forward for around 63.5 million euros fixed, plus another 10 in variables.

In this sense, the incorporation of a guaranteed striker, such as Gyökeres, represented a pending task for Arsenal for several seasons. The need to fill the void in the position of '9' had become a strategic priority for the 'gunners'.
It should be noted that after the stagnation in negotiations for Alexander Isak —whose price did not fall below the 100 M€ demanded by Newcastle—, the London club focused its efforts on the 27-year-old Swede, who became the main objective in this transfer market.
Arsenal finds an elite striker in Gyökeres
Gyökeres arrives in the Premier League with a record that supports the figure that Arsenal paid for him. The striker managed to convert 97 goals in 102 games with the Lisbon team in two seasons.
In addition, his contributions were decisive for obtaining two consecutive leagues and a cup, becoming the owner of the scoring table in both seasons.
Likewise, his records with the Swedish national team are also impressive, as the attacker has managed to score 12 goals in 17 games played so far.
In his statement to the club's media, Gyökeres pointed out that he felt that Arsenal was the right destination due to how they have played during the last few years.
"I just felt that Arsenal was the right club for me. What Mikel and Andrea told me when I spoke to them, and what I have seen in recent years, how they have been playing football, led me to choose Arsenal," said the Swedish striker.
With Gyökeres, Arsenal completes a high-level transfer market
The arrival of Viktor Gyökeres magnifies the transfer market of an Arsenal that finished the 2024/25 season in second position in the Premier League, 10 points behind Liverpool. Therefore, the new course will be a total challenge for the 'gunners' in their search to win the domestic competition.
Also, apart from the native of Stockholm, Arsenal has already closed other incorporations such as Martín Zubimendi (70 M€), Noni Madueke (56 M€ plus 2 in variables), Christian Norgaard (10 fixed kilos + 5 in variables) and Christian Mosquera (15 M€ + in variables). Surely, Mike Arteta will be more than satisfied, right? Or will he want more? Only the summer market has the answer.
Gyökeres changes clubs, but the triumph is for Sporting
If we talk purely about the economic section, the big winner is the green and white team. And it is not for less, since they signed Gyökeres in the summer of 2023 for 24 million euros, from Coventry City, and two years later they end up getting a profit of 39.5 'kilos'.
It should be noted that the Nordic had a termination clause stipulated at 100 million and had a current contract with Sporting until 2028.
However, different sources indicated that, in the past, both the striker and his representative would have reached a verbal agreement with the president of the 'green and white' club, Frederico Varandas, to facilitate an eventual departure for a figure close to 70 M€, something that was later denied by the president and stalled the negotiations that finally ended up having a satisfactory outcome for both parties.
