FC Barcelona will soon close the signing of Marcus Rashford. As planned, the English striker landed on Sunday at the Josep Tarradellas airport in El Prat, after 9:30 p.m. local time from Nottingham to sign his one-year contract with the Blaugrana team.
The 27-year-old striker traveled in the company of his brother, as well as his representative Dwayne Maynard, together with Arturo Canales, agent of the AC Talent agency, after receiving the 'Ok' from Manchester United to his loan for one year, with a non-mandatory purchase option in June 2026 for 30 million euros.
Barça will take over his entire salary (around 14 'kilos' gross), since Rashford agreed to lower his emoluments by approximately 25%. Officially, the British player will be the second reinforcement of the first team for 25/26, since Roony Bardghji signed with a reserve team record.

Taking advantage of the fact that the squad will have a day off on Monday, the club will carry out the routine medical tests on the English player during the day, in addition to the usual tour of the Ciutat Esportiva. Finally, on Tuesday at noon, the formal presentation and contract signing ceremony will take place.
Later, Marcus will join the squad in what will be his first training session of the summer, since the winger worked apart from the group for the last two weeks with United. Coach Rúbem Amorim began the pre-season in Carrington without taking into account his discards, including Rashford and the Argentine Alejandro Garnacho.
In that sense, the 'red devils' had no choice but to accept a new loan for the striker, who had already played on loan in the second half of 24/25 with Aston Villa. Barça had him 'in their sights' in January, but could not sign him due to their problems with financial 'Fair Play'.
For now, his registration, like that of Joan García, depends on freeing up salary margin with some important departure or through the income of 100 million euros derived from the sale of the exploitation rights of 475 VIP seats in the new Spotify Camp Nou.
In the case of the goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen's long-term absence may also be key to registering him, as long as the German decides to undergo surgery to treat his back problems.

Thus, once Marcus Rashford completes his first training session under the orders of Hansi Flick, the Englishman will travel with the Blaugrana squad for the Asian tour. Barça will play three friendlies in Japan and South Korea between July 27 and August 4, starting next Sunday with the visit to Vissel Kobe.
This could be the first match of the Manchester youth player with the Blaugrana shirt, waiting to reveal what his number will be for 25/26. For the moment, '12', '14', '19' and '22' are available, the latter being the number chosen by Raphinha after his arrival in Barcelona in 2022.
Similarly, '19' has been released after Lamine Yamal officially premiered '10' this week. The '14' was also released with the departure of Pablo Torre to Mallorca, while the '12' has been vacant since Martin Braithwaite used it in 20/21.
