FC Barcelona once again has Marcus Rashford 'in sight' for the next summer market. The English winger formally said goodbye to Aston Villa after a semester on loan in which he left a good impression. Now, the 27-year-old striker will return to Manchester United in July, as long as he does not find a team before.

"Just a message of thanks to everyone here at Villa for what has been an incredible few months for me (...). I know it's a huge disappointment not to have made the Champions League place that everyone worked so hard for all season, but I know this club and team will come back stronger," wrote the English international on his Instagram account.

United, 'crazy' to get rid of Marcus Rashford

Marcus must join United's pre-season in July, but the 27-year-old winger has no place in coach Ruben Amorim's plans. In fact, after a disastrous season, without titles and fifteenth in the Premier League, the Portuguese plans to carry out a brutal 'clean-up' in the 'Red Devils' squad that includes at least 6 or 7 departures.

In that sense, Rashford's name, which already sounded strongly in Barça's orbit in the past winter market, is still one of the options that the Blaugrana board is monitoring in terms of left wingers. The Englishman and Luis Díaz (Liverpool) are, for the moment, the best profiled for next season.

In principle, the Manchester player can leave Old Trafford for around 30 million euros. However, his high salary (around 18 'kilos' gross per year) complicates his signing, while forcing 'Man U' to speed up his departure, as he is one of the highest earners in his squad.

Rashford hopes to convince Barça to sign him

'Lucho', on the other hand, would arrive with a much lower fee (around €7 million gross), but his transfer could exceed 70 million euros. Beyond the salary issue, Rashford does not rule out accepting a significant salary reduction that would bring him closer to Barça or another 'top' team, although his priority is to wear the Blaugrana shirt.

At Aston Villa, the striker scored 4 goals and 6 assists in 17 games (940 minutes), although he was not an undisputed starter for coach Unai Emery. In Barcelona, the Englishman would be Raphinha's substitute as a left winger.
