Manchester United's Portuguese manager expressed his dissatisfaction with the English striker's lifestyle and training style and said he would put the goalkeeping coach before him in this context

The current football situation is not going well for Marcus Rashford. He has not been called up by Rúben Amorim for Manchester United's matches for six games, all in 2025. He was left on the bench on December 30, against Newcastle, in the last match of 2024. He was also not called up for the 4 matches his club played between December 15 and 26. In other words, the last time he stepped onto the pitch was in the middle of last month, at Viktoria Plzen.

His situation does not look like it will change. After the away win against Fulham (0-1), the 'red devils' coach responded sharply in a press conference when asked about the British striker: "You could see today that on the bench we missed a bit of rhythm to go and change the game, move some pieces, but I prefer it that way. I will put Vital (goalkeeping coach) before a player who does not give his best every day. So I am not going to change in that aspect."

Similarly, he had no problem in pointing out the reason that has led Rashford to this situation: "It is always for the same reason: training. The way I see what footballers must do in training, in life, is every day, every detail. So, if things do not change, I will not change. It is the same situation for all players. If you do your best, if you do things well, we can use all the players," Amorim concluded.

Thus, Marcus's context is very complicated. FC Barcelona are working to raise the money needed to sign him on loan in the last few days of the transfer window. There are other clubs interested in signing him, but the Catalan club is bidding the hardest for him. His future is up in the air, as there is no guarantee that he will end up at the club based in Barcelona. If he ends up staying in Manchester, a lot will have to change for him to wear the United shirt again.
