Luis Díaz is one of the left wingers in Barça's orbit, but Liverpool's economic aspirations complicate his signing
Liverpool has no intention of facilitating the departure of Luis Díaz in the next summer market. The Colombian international, one of the left wingers in the orbit of FC Barcelona, has a contract until June 2027 and, for the moment, remains one of the key pieces of coach Arne Slot's scheme.
Although the 'reds' completed a disappointing KO phase of the Champions League, winning the Premier League saved the season with a high mark for those from Merseyside. However, there are several players in the Liverpool squad with many clubs interested in signing them, including a 'Lucho' who has scored 13 goals and provided 7 assists in 34 Premier League games.
The latest information related to the future of Liverpool's '7' indicates that the 'red' board will not accept offers below 80 million euros for the 28-year-old striker. The club paid 54 'kilos' for his transfer in 2022 and his market value remains at €85M, so it is most likely that they will decide to renew him soon to secure his future.
Barça does not rule out signing Luis Díaz, but does not plan to spend so much on a winger
For Barça, the signing of a left winger is still on the table for next season. Deco himself recently admitted the need to have another striker "so as not to depend so much on the goals of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha". However, the priority is to renew the contract of both in June and, afterwards, to define which positions will be priorities in terms of reinforcements.
Luis Díaz would be a very interesting addition to Hansi Flick's scheme, as he is a natural winger with experience, good striking ability and deployment all over the left lane. Beyond that, his asking price is too high for the Blaugrana budget, as at the moment the club does not have enough money in the bank to amortize high transfers.
In any case, Barça only plans to invest a similar figure in the signing of another '9'. A move planned for the summer of 2026, understanding that Robert Lewandowski has one more year of contract and both the Pole and Ferran Torres will remain in the team.
