Héctor Fort was the Barça defender with the fewest minutes in 24/25. The right-back is expected to leave in the summer and PSV Eindhoven wants him

FC Barcelona could soon receive a formal offer from PSV Eindhoven for Héctor Fort. The team led by Peter Bosz, the brand new Eredivisie champion after an incredible comeback in the final stretch of 2024/25 (Ajax wasted a 9-point advantage with 5 games remaining), has reportedly set its sights on the Barça youth player to reinforce their right side.

In that sense, the latest information points to PSV's interest in a Fort without a place in the culé squad for next season. The '32' was the defender with the fewest minutes in 24/25 (710) and, after the injury of Jules Koundé in early May, Eric García took over the right side.

If the player from Martorell decides to stay, Barça will have a well-covered position where Koundé has been untouchable for the last two years. The Frenchman played practically everything until he was injured in the Champions League, condemning Héctor to play residual minutes and lower-level duels (he played 20 games, only 5 as a starter).

PSV Eindhoven needs a right-back and Héctor Fort would be their first option

For the current Dutch champion, the signing of a right-back is a priority objective for the summer. At the moment, the club only has Sergiño Dest for the position, but the former Barça defender has not yet returned to his best form after a cruciate ligament rupture suffered in April 2024 that kept him out of action for almost 11 months.

The American international Richard Ledezma took charge of the side this season, but will return to his country in July with Chivas de México. The other alternative available in the squad is the experienced Rick Karsdorp, although the club will let him go on a free transfer this summer.

In that sense, Héctor Fort is the first option for coach Peter Bosz, as he is a two-footed full-back with excellent potential. In principle, Barça would receive around 10 million euros for the youth player, reserving a percentage of his rights and with a buy-back option.

The 18-year-old defender has a contract until 2026 and an unspecified release clause after his last renewal. Barça can extend Fort's contract until 2029, but it is likely that they will opt to let him leave if a formal offer arrives from PSV or another club that offers the full-back the continuity that he will hardly have with Hansi Flick's team.
