The German press believes that Ter Stegen could leave Barça and already point to five clubs that would be very attentive to his situation
The departure of Marc-André ter Stegen from FC Barcelona is not yet an imminent reality, but all the information seems to indicate that, once the arrival of goalkeeper Joan García is made official, the scenario of his departure could become something very feasible. While that situation is clarified - in what promises to be a real summer 'soap opera' - from Germany, the homeland of the 'culé' goalkeeper, speculations have arisen about possible real destinations in case he finally leaves the 'azulgrana' club.
In this sense, the sports newspaper BILD has suggested five potential destinations for the German international if he leaves Barça this summer.
1. AC Milan: attentive to the possible departure of Maignan
One of the clubs proposed is AC Milan, who could lose their starting goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, who would be close to joining Enzo Maresca's Chelsea. Ter Stegen would be an ideal candidate to take over in the 'rossoneri' goal, although Massimiliano Allegri's team is also considering other options such as Mile Svilar (Roma) or Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea).
Manchester City: an old aspiration of Guardiola
The second club on the list is Manchester City, who would be considering incorporating a top-level goalkeeper to accompany Ederson, whose quality is not disputed, but whose tendency to get injured has prevented him from reaching his best version.
This interest is not new: at the express request of Pep Guardiola, the 'Sky Blues' already tried to sign Ter Stegen in the past, even holding a direct meeting with him. However, that operation did not prosper beyond the intentions of the Catalan coach.
PSG could bet on a reunion with Luis Enrique
Another possible destination is Paris Saint-Germain, current champion of the UEFA Champions League, which is going through an uncertain situation with its starting '1', Gianluigi Donnarumma. His contract expires on June 30, 2026, but negotiations for his renewal are not progressing, due to his high economic demands.

In fact, the Italian newspaper La Repubblica has reported that PSG is willing to accept an offer of €40M for 'Gigi'. In that case, Ter Stegen would be a solid alternative, especially for his technical characteristics and his previous knowledge with Luis Enrique, who values the ball output from the back a lot.
Juventus still can't find a reliable goalkeeper
Juventus is another team that comes into play. Since the departure of Gianluigi Buffon, they have not managed to find a top-level goalkeeper. Although this season the goal has been shared between Mattia Perin and Michele Di Gregorio, in Turin they are not entirely convinced. Incorporating Ter Stegen would mean an immediate leap in quality and experience for Igor Tudor's team.
Newcastle United: an ambitious project that needs a top goalkeeper
Finally, Newcastle United closes this list, who are also actively looking for a new goalkeeper. It should be remembered that the English team was one of Barça's main competitors for Joan García before the 'azulgrana' team won the race.
Despite losing that battle, Eddie Howe's team is still looking for a reliable goalkeeper. Ter Stegen would fit perfectly into an ambitious project that will compete in the next UEFA Champions League and that seeks to consolidate itself as one of the best teams in England.
Is Barça prepared to let Ter Stegen go?
As things stand, the scenario of a change of destination for Marc-André ter Stegen is more open than ever. The big question is: is Barça in a position to do without its starting goalkeeper? And, if so, will they manage to convince the German to change his mind?
It is worth remembering that 'MATS' has stated on several occasions his willingness to fulfill his contract and not leave the club. It remains to be seen if this summer he manages to move that firm position.
