Leipzig rejected FC Barcelona's first offer for Dani Olmo, but the culés are not going to give up. The Barcelona team will send another improved proposal to finally try to convince the Germans
FC Barcelona does not want to lose the signing of Dani Olmo and will do everything possible to close it in the coming weeks. The first step is to resume negotiations with Leipzig after the first and fruitless offer. The culés offered 40 million fixed euros and another 20 in variables to be able to reach 60 'kilos' of the Spaniard's already old termination clause. However, the payment method chosen by the Barcelona fans was very far from what those at Red Bull want.
The Germans want a significant cash payment, without dividing it year by year, as Barça wanted to do. The Catalans proposed paying 10 'kilos' of the 40 each season, starting in January 2025 and ending in 2029. The 'Die Roten Bullen' did not even bother to continue listening, since they need 'cash' this summer to sign the replacement from Egarense. Since then, there has not been any concrete contact, until now, when everything is being resumed.
Fabrizio Romano reveals that Barcelona is going to send another formal proposal to sign Olmo, improving the conditions initially offered. There are no concrete details about the figures of this second offer, but it is more than likely that the Blaugrana will offer to pay an important part of the transfer this summer and the rest over the next few years. This would be a midpoint between what Leipzig would want, which is to collect everything now, and what Barça hoped to be able to do, which was to start paying in 2025 and do it little by little each season.
Nico Williams continues to be Barça's No. 1 goal
While they try to unblock this negotiation, the Barcelona fans await the decision of Nico Williams, who is the club's priority just above Dani. Once the Navarrese winger confirms his future, which seems to be close to the Camp Nou, the Catalans will accelerate for the Terrassa midfielder. It should also be said that in the event that the Athletic attacker 'stands' against the culés, Joan Laporta will have much more facilities to meet the demands of the 'Red Bulls' for his player. Nobody wants this to happen, but it is an option that must be taken into account.
Barcelona's objective, however, is to bring together both internationals for Spain in Barcelona. After both of them stood out with the national team in the Euro Cup, Barça believes that they will be key reinforcements to raise the average level of the team and be able to compete against the best in the world. With Nico on one side, Olmo in the midfield or as a 'false 9' and Lamine Yamal on the right, the Barcelona fans would undoubtedly scare anyone.
