The Premier League takes the lead in the signing of Jamie Gittens. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are pushing for the Dortmund winger, leaving Barça with no options
The sports management of FC Barcelona is more active than ever in the 'casting' of wingers to strengthen the position next summer. Names like Rafael Leao, Marcus Rashford, and Luis Díaz are among the top favorites of the blue and claret entity, but top-level figures like Nico Williams and Jamie Gittens are also being closely monitored by the culés.
However, the possible arrival of the latter in the Catalan city could be practically ruled out. The English winger has established himself as one of the great revelations of the season at Borussia Dortmund, where he has scored 11 goals and 5 assists in 33 matches, and several of the top teams in the continent are already pushing to secure his services for the next season.
The Premier League leaves Barça with no options for Gittens
According to 'SPORT', the Germans believe they have found the new Dembélé, which is why they have set his transfer fee at around 80 million euros. An amount that Barça would not be willing to reach during the summer window, unless a significant sale occurs, such as that of Ronald Araujo, which is why the Premier League has taken the lead in the bidding for the attacker.
Clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham have reportedly accelerated in recent weeks to secure the signing of Gittens and, as of today, they are in the 'pole position' to incorporate him into their ranks this summer, leaving the Catalans with little room to maneuver in this operation.
Meanwhile, at Can Barça, they will continue to focus their efforts on other priorities such as the possible arrival of Alexander Isak, and, although as of today it seems that the Dortmund player will end up heading to England, the blaugranas could place his name back on the table if his signing remains within reach come summer.
