Joan Laporta is confident that Barça will be able to register its signings for the 25/26 season on time, despite the mess due to Ter Stegen's injury and the 'Fair Play' issue

The board of FC Barcelona remains fully confident that it will be able to register all its signings for the 2025/26 season before the start of the season. With two weeks to go before the debut in LaLiga against Mallorca (Saturday, August 16 at 7:30 PM), the three players signed in the summer market still do not have a federative license to play.

This is the case of Joan García, Roony Bardghji and Marcus Rashford. The case of the Swedish forward is the least complex because he signed with a reserve team contract. To them is added Wojciech Szczesny, who renewed in July for two seasons after his previous contract ended on June 30.

Joan Laporta, confident in Barça's work to register its reinforcements

In that sense, president Joan Laporta is confident in resolving the registrations of these four players on time, despite Barça's issues with financial 'Fair Play'. The club still hasn't managed to return to the 1:1 rule and is still exceeding its salary margin, so it cannot update its most recent contracts.

"The issue of registrations is progressing adequately. It is better to do the work and not air it. We do our work and we are convinced that we will be able to register everyone", commented the Azulgrana president in an interview with 'Mundo Deportivo'.

For the moment, the club needs to earn the 100 million euros derived from the sale of the exploitation rights of 475 VIP seats at the Spotify Camp Nou to have the 1:1 rule again.

In addition, the departure of several players discarded by Hansi Flick is pending, including Iñaki Peña and Héctor Fort, in addition to the uncertainty generated by the future of Marc-André ter Stegen.

Ter Stegen: the easiest way to unlock Barça's registrations?

Regarding the case of the German goalkeeper, Laporta assures that, beyond the rumors, the registration of Joan García does not depend exclusively on resolving the departure of the '1'.

'Matts', however, earns 14 million euros net per year and, if his absence due to a prolonged injury (four months) is confirmed, Barcelona would save 80% of his salary immediately.

"What happens is that, via Ter Stegen's injury, which is a significant absence, is the most direct way to register Joan", explained Laporta. For now, the captain's time off is still unconfirmed.

The goalkeeper assures that he is ready to return in three months, while the club is more conservative about it. In any case, the Azulgrana team hopes to balance the books in time so that the registration of its reinforcements, again, does not depend on a specific injury.

In the summer of 2024, Dani Olmo was registered in this way, after the injury of Andreas Christensen. Later, in the winter market, LaLiga annulled his license and that of Pau Víctor due to the 'Fair Play' issue. The objective is, at all costs, to prevent a similar 'soap opera' this year.
