The Barça midfielder shone against France and aims to add a new international title with the Spanish National Team.
Pedri González was one of the main protagonists in Spain's victory over France (5-4) in the semi-final of the UEFA Nations League, played this Sunday. The FC Barcelona player scored a key goal and led the offensive game of la Roja, who will play the final against Portugal.
The Spanish National Team, led by Luis de la Fuente, sealed their pass to the final after a thrilling match in which Pedri not only left a gem for the memory with his goal, but also demonstrated tactical maturity, positional intelligence and leadership in midfield. The Tenerife-born footballer thus seeks to close the season with a new title, now with his country.
Pedri, decisive in the semi-final: goal and leadership in the centre of the field
The match played between Spain and France will be remembered as one of the most vibrant semi-finals in the recent history of the tournament. Spain won 5-4 in a duel of constant alternatives, and Pedri González was one of the most outstanding figures of the match.

The midfielder of FC Barcelona scored the third goal for Spain with a play that combined class, speed and an impeccable finish, after a first control that completely dislodged the French defense. "We didn't imagine a match like this, but the important thing is that we are in the final", Pedri declared after the match.
Despite the result, the azulgrana player regretted that Spain did not dominate the game more against an intense and vertical France. “We haven't dominated as much as we would have liked, but we have been effective up front. I have a better memory now than in the European Championship”, he commented, alluding to the injury he suffered in that tournament.
Tactical adjustments and eyes set on the final against Portugal
One of the key moments of the match came with the positional adjustment between Pedri and Mikel Merino, a decision that significantly improved the circulation of the ball in the second half. “When I am in contact with the ball I feel more comfortable. The coach asked us to exchange and it worked. We have arrows up top that do magic. It is important to give them all the possible balls”, explained the Canary Islands footballer.
Spain will face Portugal in the final of the UEFA Nations League, in a duel that promises intensity and maximum demand. “It is clear that it will not be easy. It hasn't been easy against France either. We must value being in a final again, which is not easy. Happy for the team, which once again overcomes everything”, concluded Pedri.
With this performance, the international from Barça reinforces his role as a pillar both in Hansi Flick's scheme and in that of Luis de la Fuente, combining premature maturity and natural talent.
If he lifts the trophy, Pedri would add the Nations League to a showcase that already has Liga, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup at the age of 21.
