Barça will wear their 'Black Mamba' jersey at Stamford Bridge

FC Barcelona's visit to Chelsea this Tuesday (9:00 PM CEST) will allow the Catalan team to use, for the second time this season, the alternative jersey from the 'Black Mamba' collection. The kit, which combines pale ochre as the dominant color on the jersey with black on the shorts and other purple details, has only been used in the visit to Oviedo (1-3)

That day, Barça won with goals from Eric García, Robert Lewandowski, and Ronald Araujo, coming back from Alberto Reina's initial goal. Despite the victory, the match left a negative balance due to the injuries of Joan García and Raphinha. Both have now recovered from their physical problems and will be available at Stamford Bridge.

Previously, the Blaugrana squad debuted their alternative jersey on the Asian pre-season tour, in the thrashing victory against FC Seoul (3-7). In the league, the team had hoped to use this kit in matches against Mallorca and Levante, but the 'kit selector' forced the team to use the third kit of the 24/25 season, which is green.

European debut for Barça's 'Black Mamba' jersey

In the Champions League, in its first two away games, Barça used its third kit, orange in color, against Newcastle and Bruges. This kit was also used in the league against Sevilla, while the classic blaugrana kit has been used for the remaining 11 matches (3 away from home).

In 24/25, Barça used their second kit (black) in 4 matches, while the green one was only used in the second leg of the semifinals against Inter. The team played twice at Borussia Dortmund's ground, always wearing their home kit.

For this season, the club will have a fourth kit that will alternate with the main blue and red kit in league, cup, Super Cup, and Champions League matches. Its debut is scheduled for January 2026, in the Spanish Super Cup.

In the Champions League, Barça visited Chelsea seven times, with a record of one win, two draws, and four losses. In their first appearance at Stamford Bridge, the team wore a silver-grey jersey in the 3-1 loss in the first leg of the quarterfinals.

Subsequently, in 2005, the Catalans played in London wearing a kit with a **pale ochre** hue in the 4-2 defeat that sealed their elimination in the round of 16. A year later, in the same round, Barça got revenge with a 1-2 victory wearing a **fluorescent green** jersey

That same year, but in the group stage of the 2006/07 season, the Blaugranas visited the 'blue' stadium again, this time in an orange kit. Chelsea won 1-0 on that occasion. In 2009, in the 'semis', Barça played in a yellow shirt in the memorable 'Iniestazo'.

In its last two visits, in 2012 and 2018, Barça played in black and garnet, respectively, obtaining a defeat (1-0) and a draw (1-1) in the semifinals and round of 16, respectively. The club could also have opted for orange this Tuesday, but preferred to use the 'Black Mamba' jersey.
