Barça's thrashing of Olympiacos (6-1) allowed the Azulgrana team to move up to ninth place in the league phase standings. Atlético, on the other hand, was thrashed in London against Arsenal (4-0)
FC Barcelona recovered ground in the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 group stage thanks to a resounding victory at Montjuïc against Olympiacos (6-1). Hansi Flick's team now has 6 points out of a possible 9 and appears in 9th place thanks to their goal difference (+5).
The Barça fans increased the difference against Olympiacos, taking advantage of the Greeks' numerical inferiority and a penalty in the 67th minute, scored by Lamine Yamal, which led José Luis Mendilivar's team to give up in the last 20 minutes. Before the '10' penalty, the match was 2-1.
Fermín López put Barça ahead with a brace before the break, but the visitors pulled one back with a penalty in the 53rd minute. The player from Huelva, in the end, would take the ball home after completing the first hat-trick of his career. Marcus Rashford, with another pair of goals, completed the Barça rout.
In this way, Flick's team gets closer to the TOP-8 that grants direct access to the round of 16, awaiting Wednesday's results. In the next matchday, Barcelona visits Bruges (November 5), while Olympiacos hosts PSV Eindhoven.

Atlético de Madrid and Villarreal Fell on Tuesday's Matchday
The other two Spanish clubs that saw action on Tuesday were not so lucky. Villarreal fell at home to Manchester City (0-2) with goals from Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva, both in the first half. With the victory, Pep Guardiola's team climbs to fifth place in the overall standings with 7 points. Marcelino's team, however, falls to 29th place with only 1 point.
Another team that failed to score points on the day was Atlético de Madrid. The 'Colchoneros' went into halftime tied without goals against Arsenal, but fell dramatically in London after completing a disastrous second half (4-0).
Gabriel Magalhaes opened the scoring in the 57th minute, and from then on, the 'colchoneros' collapsed defensively. Gabriel Martinelli extended the lead in the 64th minute, and Viktor Gyökeres, with a double in the 67th and 70th minutes, completed the 'gunners' rout. Arsenal is now third with a perfect score (9), while 'Aleti' falls to 18th place with only 3 points.
