An unpublished duel for the European Crown: Inter vs. PSG
Finally, the brand new finalists of the UEFA Champions League 2024-25 are known. Inter Milan had secured their place in the final after beating FC Barcelona 4-3 at the Giuseppe Meazza (7-6 on aggregate) the day before. Now, Paris Saint-Germain completes the pair of finalists after beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Parc des Princes, in a decisive match that left the Parisians as overall winners.
On Wednesday, Fabián Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi were the great heroes of PSG. The Parisian team had already taken an important step in the first leg, when they achieved a 0-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium thanks to a goal from Ousmane Dembélé. In this way, the French team achieved a 3-1 aggregate score, securing their presence in the great match on May 31 in Munich.
An unprecedented final: PSG vs. Inter Milan
This UEFA Champions League 2024-25 final will mark the beginning of a totally unprecedented rivalry. It will be the first time that Paris Saint-Germain, who reach their second final in the club's history, face Inter Milan, a team with more experience in international competitions. The 'nerazzurri' have already played six Champions League finals and have won three: 1963-64, 1964-65 and 2009-10.
Although it will be the first time that both teams have met in an official competition, PSG and Inter have met on other occasions in international friendlies. In 2023, the Italians won 1-2 (01/08), while in 2016, it was the French who were victorious with a 1-3 (24/07). So, at a non-official level, it can be said that the rivalry between both teams is quite even, which adds even more excitement to this unprecedented final.

Inzaghi and Luis Enrique: two strategists with experience in Champions League finals
This final of the UEFA Champions League 2024-25 will pit two coaches with experience in this type of instance, although with contrasting trajectories.
On the one hand, Simone Inzaghi, current coach of Inter Milan, already knows what it is to play a Champions League final. He did it recently, in the 2023 edition, also at the helm of the 'nerazzurri', when his team faced Manchester City. That time, the Lombards offered resistance, but they fell 1-0 with a solitary goal from Rodri Hernández.
On the other hand, there is Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, who also has experience in Champions League finals, although with a more favorable record. The Asturian coach lifted the trophy in 2015, when he was in charge of FC Barcelona. In that final, the azulgrana team won 1-3 against Juventus with goals from Ivan Rakitić, Luis Suárez and Neymar Jr.
Simone Inzaghi's Inter has reached the final with a consolidated identity: firm defense, combative midfield and a forward line that punishes with surgical precision. In contrast, Luis Enrique's PSG has evolved towards a more mature and balanced football, maintaining possession as a flag, but with a high pressure and fast transitions that make it unpredictable. Both styles have proven to be effective, but only one will be crowned in Europe. Will it be the Italian forcefulness or the Parisian dynamism that lifts the 'Orejona'? It will be seen on May 31 in Munich.
