Barça's victory against Madrid (4-3) allowed Flick's team to close the gap in the Clásico. How many victories does each team have?
FC Barcelona delivered a statement blow to LaLiga with their victory against Real Madrid (4-3), a result that confirmed the absolute dominance of the 'Azulgrana' in Clásicos this season. The 'Culés' have now won four in a row against 'Los Blancos' and have closed the gap in the historical record.
Thanks to the triumph at Montjuïc, Barça is now only one victory away from equaling the historical duel with Madrid again. For now, the 'Merengues' have 105 victories, compared to 104 for the 'Azulgrana' team and 52 draws in 261 official matches.
Last season, 'Los Blancos' moved five wins ahead of Barça thanks to their victories in La Liga (1-2 and 3-2) and the Super Cup (4-1). However, in 24/25, the Catalans crushed their biggest rival with 16 goals in favor and 5 against after 4 consecutive wins in La Liga (0-4 and 4-3), Copa del Rey (3-2) and Super Cup (5-2).
Clásico History: Flick brings Barcelona closer to Real Madrid
In that sense, the four consecutive victories of Flick's team have allowed the 'Azulgrana' team to get within just one win of 'Los Blancos' in the history of official matches. Since 1902, both teams have faced each other 261 times, with the first match being favorable to Barcelona.
It was in the semifinals of the Coronation Cup, the predecessor of the Copa del Rey, when the 'Azulgrana' team won 3-1. Finally, Bizcaya (Athletic Club) took the trophy in the final against the 'Culés'.
Since then, Barça and Madrid have faced each other 190 times in La Liga, while in the Copa del Rey they have met on 38 occasions. In the Spanish Super Cup, there have been 18 Clásicos to date, while in the extinct Copa de la Liga there were 6 clashes, with a pair of Catalan wins and 4 draws.

In La Liga, the record is 79-76 in favor of Madrid (plus 35 draws), unlike the Copa del Rey, where Barça has 18 wins, 8 draws and 13 losses. In the Super Cup, the 'Merengues' have won 10 matches, with only a couple of draws and 6 'Culé' victories.
And, in the Champions League, there have been 8 Clásicos, with a pair of victories for Barça, the same number of draws and 3 wins for Madrid. The last precedent dates back to the semifinals of 10/11, when Pep Guardiola's team advanced to the final with a 3-1 aggregate score.
Due to Barcelona's absence from the Club World Cup, there will be no more Clásicos until the first round of La Liga 25/26. In addition, both teams could face each other, for the fifth consecutive edition, in the Spanish Super Cup in January.
