Dani Olmo returns for FC Barcelona's debut in LaLiga against Mallorca, but what about Lewandowski? Discover the latest news
Good news for FC Barcelona. The Blaugrana team, which recently returned to training to prepare for their debut in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 against RCD Mallorca (Saturday, August 16 - 7:30 PM) at Son Moix, has recovered a key player who was out due to injury.
It's Dani Olmo, the 27-year-old attacking midfielder from Egara, who had been away from the Catalan team's dynamics for several days due to a muscle overload. Now, the former RB Leipzig player is training normally and will be available for Hansi Flick for the official start of the 2025/26 season.
Dani Olmo returns to action with Barça
The player from Terrassa worked at the same pace as his teammates and even was part of the winning team in the usual practice match during the training sessions. Everything indicates that his presence in the match against RCD Mallorca is not in doubt.
- 📌THE FACT: Dani Olmo played 135 minutes in the preseason, participating in all the matches of the Asian tour: 45' against Vissel Kobe, 45' against FC Seoul and 45' against Daegu FC.
However, he was absent in the match against Como 1907 for the Joan Gamper Trophy due to the aforementioned muscle overload.
Lewandowski, doubtful for the league debut
Robert Lewandowski is likely to miss the premiere in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 against RCD Mallorca. The Polish striker continues with discomfort in the biceps femoris of his left thigh and did not participate in the first session of the week. Unless there is a drastic change in his evolution, the Warsaw striker will not be available against the Pirates.
Also, as a highlight of the training session led by Hansi Flick this Tuesday, the German coach continues to count on several youth players from the reserve team: Toni Fernández, Guille Fernández, Dro Fernández and Jofre Torrents. Their constant presence in the dynamics of the first team opens the door for some of them to enter the squad for the match against the Vermilions. Will any of them manage to make the definitive leap?
