Ferran Torres, positive after his appendicitis operation: message of encouragement before the Espanyol-Barça

One of the most sensitive absences with which FC Barcelona will face the final stretch of the season is that of Ferran Torres. The 'Shark' had to undergo surgery last Wednesday at the Hospital de Barcelona after being diagnosed with appendicitis.

Ferran Torres: message after his appendicitis operation and support for Barça

Amidst concern for his physical condition, the Valencian forward wanted to send a reassuring message through his social networks (@ferrantorres), where he confirmed that the operation was a success. From his hospital bed, the Foios native shared a couple of images along with an optimistic message about his progress and the immediate future of the team:

"Appendicitis overcome! Time to support the team tonight from here to be League Champions", wrote the '7' of Barcelona.

Although he will be physically absent, Ferran made it clear that he will closely follow the crucial Catalan derby against RCD Espanyol. A match in which Barcelona could mathematically secure the LaLiga title.

A bittersweet end to the season for the Valencian

The surgery comes at a time when Ferran Torres was signing off on his best season as a culé. Without having been an undisputed starter, he has accumulated 19 goals and seven assists in 45 official matches, his best records since he wore the FC Barcelona shirt.

Especially memorable was his performance in the last league Clásico against Real Madrid, where he became a figure by distributing three assists in the resounding 4-3 victory for Barcelona at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. A performance that will probably end up being his last of the season.
