The president of Barça ignited the culé illusion by anticipating an imminent reinforcement. Discover its keys for this summer
Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, appeared before the media as part of his participation in the culé Senate. In his speech, he addressed various current issues of the Catalan team, including the economic situation, the incorporations and the return to the Spotify Camp Nou.
The leader of the Ciudad Condal team was close when talking about the club's financial situation: "We are working to strengthen it. We don't want to repeat the suffering we experienced when we took over. The renting company has already gone from being in a stable situation to a positive one," he argued.
Likewise, Laporta highlighted the market value of the current squad, especially that of the players trained at La Masia: "The players from La Masia do not have zero value, according to economic studies. Lamine, for example, is a world reference. They all have a very high market value, including those who came from abroad, such as De Jong, Pedri, Raphinha, and others from different football cultures. That gives us a guaranteed present and future."

Economic recovery of FC Barcelona under Laporta's management
'Jan' also highlighted the economic progress made during his term: "The economic recovery is based on a strategic plan that we have been fulfilling despite the difficulties. This season we will generate 980 million euros. The budget will exceed 1,000 million for the first time. We are trying to reduce the debt, and we are achieving it," he warned.
"We are earning 44 million more from ticket sales this season, even playing in Montjuïc. That is also thanks to the team for their game and spectacle. We reached the Champions League semi-finals. In the commercial area, with Nike we signed the best contract in history, with 280 million in revenue this season," he added.
The president also added: "The 'merchandising' of Barça with BLM has improved, achieving a historic figure. In international trade, last season we exceeded 100 million and this year we will reach between 140 and 150. It is a source of pride to see this recovery phase."
Barcelona and the return to the 1/1 rule
Laporta also confirmed that the club is already operating under the 1/1 rule of 'fair play' financial: "All this allows us to be in 'fair play' in relation 1/1. We achieved it with a lot of work and collaboration. That's why we were able to sign Dani Olmo. We have overcome many difficulties."
In turn, 'Jan' announced that there will be new signings soon:
"We are about to close an imminent incorporation. We will surely be able to sign another player that excites us a lot. We have a fluid relationship with LaLiga and that is why I believe that we will soon be able to announce signings."
Return date of the Barça team to the Camp Nou
Laporta also offered details about the return of the culé team to the renovated Spotify Camp Nou: "We want to be in a 21st century stadium. It is not a remodeling, it is a new stadium. We want the players to return as soon as possible. The Camp Nou will be key to recovering purchasing power," he explained.
In addition to this, the president pointed to September as a tentative date for the return:
"We plan to return in the fall. From September we will try to play in LaLiga with guarantees. The Gamper, on August 10, will be the first test. The capacity is not yet known."
He also commented on the plan for subscribers: "As in Montjuïc, preference will be given to those who have been in the Estadi Olímpic for some season. The stadium will start with about 60,000 seats. We hope to have it completely finished by the summer of 2026, perhaps with the exception of the roof."
Laporta highlights the Barça season and the management of the club
The president once again highlighted the economic recovery of the club and the work of his board. "The president takes the praise and criticism, but many people work here. We have increased income, reduced expenses without losing competitiveness. This has been a historic season, although not perfect, as we were left at the gates of the final in Munich."

There he contributed: "We reduced the wage bill by 22% to be in the 1/1 rule. And all this without the member having to contribute money. Barça is still owned by its members. That is a red line that was not crossed. We recovered Barça without asking the member for economic sacrifices."
Praise for the squad and Deco's work
Finally, Laporta also referred to the sporting performance of the team and the work of the sports area: "We have an exceptional group, with home players and others trained abroad. Hansi Flick has known how to harmonize everything. This League belongs to the members. We have been attacked harshly from outside, but the members have been with us. Thank you for trusting us. We are once again a reference in world football," he concluded.
