Joan Laporta details Barça's strategy for the upcoming summer market and comments on Lamine Yamal's future with the club
Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, gave an extensive interview to TV3 on the occasion of the special "Nit dels Campions", in which he reviewed in detail the current situation of the Azulgrana team. During the conversation, the Barça president touched on various topics, with special emphasis on sports planning for the upcoming transfer market.
'Jan' was hopeful regarding the ability of the Ciudad Condal team to sign players this summer, expressing that the club is on track to comply with the 1/1 rule imposed by LaLiga, which would allow them to add players without so many economic restrictions:
"The 1:1 rule is set by the LaLiga commission and we will generate 950 million euros this season, in the following season the budget exceeds 1,000 million euros and we are looking for more income than losses, so we are confident of being in a 1:1 relationship. Last season we already achieved positive ordinary results," he warned.

Reinforcements in all lines and situation of the goal
The 62-year-old Catalan lawyer gave some details about what is expected to be the sports planning of the Azulgrana team in the upcoming summer market: "I know they are talking about improving each and every line."

In turn, regarding the goal, he avoided 'getting wet' on the subject of a new signing and opted for the continuity of Szczęsny as Ter Stegen's 'shield', although he left the decision in the hands of the coaching staff:
"Why did we sign 'Tek'? Because Iñaki was doing well, but Deco and the coach asked for experience and I think it has turned out quite well and we hope it will continue, but it is more in his field than in ours. Our intention is for him to continue," he emphasized.
Haaland, Nico Williams and other names on the table
Laporta was also asked about the name of Erling Haaland, a striker who has been speculated to be one of the great desires he has on the agenda to strengthen the Barça's offensive front. However, he cooled any expectations about a possible signing: "In life almost nothing is impossible, but I think that at the moment we are not thinking about such an incorporation," he remarked.
Regarding Nico Williams, who was in the Barça's orbit last summer, he explained that the club prioritized other options: "Nico Williams was one of the candidates last season, but we decided on Olmo and at this moment other options are being considered," he revealed.
In addition to this, the Azulgrana president also spoke about Vitor Roque. A signing that, on a sporting level, turned out to be unsuccessful for Barcelona, but from which, fortunately, they managed to recover some of what was invested after transferring him to Palmeiras. "Vitor Roque? You have to see the context. Now he is playing well, he was also loaned to Betis. Not everything can go well," he concluded.
Lamine Yamal: renewal, contract and number 10
One of the most anticipated topics was when Lamine Yamal will renew with the Catalan team. Laporta offered an optimistic message, although he acknowledged that the final signature of the talented Spanish-Moroccan player is still missing:
"You always have to suffer [laughs]. It's been talked about, it's all very dressed up, but the signature is missing and I can't say that something that isn't done is done. But I can say that it's been worked on and Lamine is an exceptional person, more mature than his age," he said.

Regarding the contract, he made it clear that Lamine Yamal will receive treatment according to his importance: "With Messi, the bonuses were very important. The treatment is important, that he feels comfortable, loved, that collective successes are achieved that lead to individual ones and we do this well here. Barça is the best club where he can be: he is Catalan, he is a Barça fan to the core, where can he be better? He is called to be the best in the world," he detailed.
Finally, he referred to the possibility of Lamine wearing the number 10 next season: "That will be discussed internally, he chose 19 and we will see what choice he makes. But he is the reference, although this is a team. And what I like about Lamine is that in addition to individual talent, he also participates a lot in the game. He is a modern footballer: he also knows how to defend. He is an outstanding player," he concluded.
