Gamper 2025: Barça will face Como 1907 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff

FC Barcelona has made official the team they will compete against in the 60th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy. As previously rumored, the Azulgrana team has announced that Como 1907, the team managed by Cesc Fàbregas, will be the guest for this edition of the traditional pre-season tournament.

With former Azulgrana players in their squad such as Sergi Roberto and Álex Valle, the Larianos will visit the Estadi Johan Cruyff on August 10 to face the Catalan team starting at 9:00 PM. It should be remembered that, given the impossibility of playing the Gamper at the Spotify Camp Nou —due to problems with the delivery of the First Occupation license—, the Blaugrana team will be forced to play this tournament, which honors the memory of the club's founder, in a ground where they do not usually play their official matches.

It should not be overlooked that this will be only the second time that Barcelona has played an edition of the Trofeo Joan Gamper at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. The first was in 2021, curiously also against an Italian rival: Juventus of Turin. In that match, the Culés won with a resounding 3-0 thanks to goals from Memphis Depay, Riqui Puig, and Martin Braithwaite.

Como 1907 will be the ninth Italian club to compete in the Joan Gamper

Returning to the match between Como 1907 and FC Barcelona, it will be the first time that both teams have faced each other, thus making the Blanquiazul team the ninth Italian team in history to be invited to an edition of the Trofeo Joan Gamper. The other eight clubs are:

In turn, it should be noted that most of the Italian clubs mentioned above have participated in more than one occasion in the Trofeo Joan Gamper. In contrast, Naples, Parma, AS Roma, and Brescia have only been invited once.
