The extraordinary telematic assembly on Sunday served to ratify the sponsorship agreement with Spotify. The Swedish multimedia services company will be the 'main sponsor' of the Blaugrana shirt until 2026

With a total of 85% of the votes, the telematic extraordinary Assembly of partners compromisarios approved the sponsorship of Spotify. The company of Swedish multimedia services converts like this in the main sponsor of the FC Barcelona for the next four seasons, an agreement cataloged by the president Joan Laporta like "the best of the history of the Barça and one of the mejroes of the world". The assembly registered 625 votes in favour, 49 against and 27 in white .

The Assembly started late due to a technical problem and, after more than two hours of debate, the vote was held that made it possible to formalize the agreement with which the Swedish multimedia services company becomes the new 'main sponsor' of the shirt Blaugrana until 2026. Spotify will also sponsor the training shirt until 2025 and is awarded the 'title rights' of the Camp Nou for at least 12 seasons, with which the culé temple will have sponsorship for the first time in its history.

Due to the confidentiality agreement between the parties, the board did not give figures for the agreement, but the Vice President of Marketing, Juli Guiu assured that the commissions of the agreement "will appear in the accounting books". According to 'Mundo Deportivo', Barça will obtain 57.7 million fixed annual euros for the sponsorship of the men's and women's first team jersey, plus an extra 2.5 kilos in variables. In total, the four-season agreement represents 240 million euros for the Catalan coffers.

For the training shirt of the men's and women's first team, Spotify will pay 5 'kilos' for three seasons, totaling 15 million. With regard to the Camp Nou, the Swedish company will pay 5 'kilos' per year during the first four seasons, while the stadium's remodeling works last. From 2026, the figure will rise to 20 'kilos' per year, with which Barça will obtain 180 million euros for 12 seasons in exchange for the 'title rights' of the culé temple. In total, the agreement with Spotify will leave 435 million euros for the club.

Laporta recognizes the management of Darren Dein

Darren Dein, agent of Thierry Henry and Cesc Fàbregas, was the 'cover' of the negotiations with Spotify. His management was key to closing the deal, for which Dein will receive a commission that will be paid directly and will appear in the club's accounting, according to Juli Guiu. At the end of the voting, Laporta asked for an applause for Dein and Guiu in recognition of their management, since according to the president, the agent "was one of those who suffered the most with the agreement".
