The options that FC Barcelona has to cover the position of '9'

This Monday, Carlos Alberto Yaqué, representative of Lautaro Martínez, has left clear that the Argentinian forward will remain in the Inter of Milan. In this way, they fell through definitively the few options that remained to be able to see to Lautaro Martínez dressed of Barcelona from this season. Something that will force to the FC Barcelona to look for solutions to cover the position of '9', since Ronald Koeman has entirely decided that Luis Suárez does not go in in his plans and that the Uruguayan has to abandon the Camp Nou this same season.

Memphis Depay, only possible signing

With Lautaro Martínez descartado like possible signing of the FC Barcelona for the present season, the Barcelona club has remained with an only viable alternative on the table: the one of Memphis Depay. The forward of the Olympique of Lyon is a direct proposal of Ronald Koeman -that had him like key piece in the selection- and part with the advantage to finish agreement with the French club the next month of June, what would do viable his arrival.

To his 26 years, Memphis Depay would arrive after his good season with the Olympique of Lyon, although the sportive direction and the technical body would have to value if the Dutch attacker would solve the problems of the staff. It treats of a more accustomed forward to play like second tip, by what would not contribute any novelty to a staff that has players of this same profile, with Antoine Griezmann like better example.

Reconversions in the staff

If finally they do not arrive Memphis Depay neither any another leading, Ronald Koeman will have to experience with what already has in a staff that has Martin Braithwaite like only player with profile of leading pure centre. The most likely option is that it was Antoine Griezmann the player that play more advanced the next season, so much by his tactical intelligence as by his capacity to launch the pressure.

Another very interesting option would be to bet by Leo Messi​ as '9', since the Argentinian star is the player with more goal of the staff and could take out a big party of his game if it plays more near of the area, taking into account that players like Philippe Coutinho, Pedri, Francisco Trincao or the own Antoine Griezmann can fulfil the functions in the mediapunta. Ansu Fati Would be the big 'covered', and to that in spite of splitting like left extreme can play also in the centre.
