Ignacio Mestre, new general director of the FC Barcelona

The Barça has confirmed in a communiqué the remodeling in the organisational structure of the executive area of the club after the ordinary meeting of the managerial board celebrated this Monday. The most significant change is the nomination of Ignacio Mestre like new general director in replacement of Antoni Rossich, man of confidence of the ex Sandro Rosell and that occupied the charge from 2010.

Josep Maria Bartomeu, that already advanced that there would be changes in the last assembly of compromisarios celebrated in October, has proposed to the board resolve the agreement of the current general director, Antoni Rossich, and substitute it by Ignacio Mestre, up to now director manager.

The new structuring of the Barcelona club will have to speed up the taking of decisions, basing in a more effective coordination, and will remain divided in three big areas: General Direction, Direction Area of Professional Sports and Cabinet of Presidency and Direction Space Barça.

On the other hand, Albert Soler, current director of Institutional Relations, will happen to coordinate also the work of the areas of football and of the professional sections. Finally, Gerard Guiu, up to now responsible of the Cabinet of the Managerial Board, has been appointed new director of Projects.
