It dies to the 90 years Josep Seguer, legend barcelonista

Tonight it has died Josep Seguer to the age of 90 years. The ex player of the Barça will be buried this Friday to the 12 hours in Hospitalet of l'Infant. Been born in Parets of the Vallés (Barcelona) on 6 May 1923, Josep Seguer Sans devoted a big part of his life to the FC Barcelona since in 1940 ingresó in the pertinent amateur team of the CF Parets.

After going yielded to the Granollers in the campaign 1942/43, arrived to the first team barcelonista, where was fourteen years (of 1943 to 1957), with 470 parties played and 133 marked goals. It was four international times with the Spanish selection. First it played like interior and in this position won the titles achieved in the decade of the forty. But Seguer was endowed of an excellent capacity of adaptation to any position in the field and did not have problems in turning into lateral.

Seguer Was a polyvalent player and an all terrain of strong physical and big resistance technical and that did him indispensable in any team. Apart from the mote familiar ?Patetis? Also it was known by his mates with the quite graphic appellative of ?Diesel?, but only when it played of interior of containment, a position in which it was necessary to run a lot.

In the season 1951/52, in the period of the technician Ferdinand Daucik and the star Ladislao Kubala, Seguer turned into one of the angular stones of the team of the Five Glasses, forming line in the side of the defence with Martín and Biosca or Segarra and Biosca. That team was a pineapple, a group of friends that spoke Catalan in the changing room since almost all were of the house.

In the season 1956/57 Seguer, already veteran, hardly played. Like this the things, arrived the hour of the goodbye. With the Barça had won five Leagues (1944/45, 1947/48, 1948/49, 1951/52 and 1952/53), four Glasses of Spain (1950/51, 1951/52, 1952/53 and 1956/57), two Latin Glasses (1948/49 and 1951/52) and two Glasses Eva Duarte (1948/49 and 1951/52).

Decided to not leaving to play to the football, Seguer fichó by the Betis, where in the season 1958/59 was the trainer. Afterwards it played and it trained to the Manresa and from the campaign 1961/62 trained during three years to the amateur team of the FC Barcelona. Besides, from November of 1961 was second trainer of the first team to the orders of Ladislao Kubala. This charge kept it in the seasons 1962/63 and 1963/64 with the successive technical directions of Kubala, Josep Gonzalvo and César, in addition to that continued training to the amateur team. However, in 1964 it left to train to the Lleida. Afterwards it trained to the Terrassa before going back to the Barça in 1969 to train to his subsidiary, the Condal. But after the day fifth of the League 1969-70 had to substitute to the technician of the first team, Salvador Artigas. Seguer Did of trainer bridge until the arrival of Vic Buckingham, the second party of the second turn, in January of 1970. Then it became the assistant of the English technician.

In 1970 it was the first trainer of the Barça Atlètic, the Barcelona filial team resultant of the fusion of the Condal and the Atlètic Catalonia. It was two seasons, the 1970/71 and 1971/72.

Between 1972 and 1983, the infatigable Seguer trained to the Badalona, to the Manresa, to the Jupiter, to the Tortosa, to the Terrassa, to the Villarreal, to the Figueres, to the Gavà and to the Reus. It was the team tarraconense where said suffices, already with 60 years.

On 6 April 2013 the FC Barcelona and the Grouping Barça Players tributaron a moving and merecidísimo conjoint homage to Josep Seguer and to Antoni Ramallets in the Room Paris of the Camp Nou.
