The FIFA has answered to the communiqué sent the past 17 July by the Conmebol, organ rector of the football suramericano, that considered the sanction to Luis Suárez "excessive and disproportionate". Jerome Valcke has ratified the punishment on the Uruguayan

Through a note spread in Uruguay and collected by the newspaper "Sport" among others media, the general secretary of the FIFA, Jerome Valcke, has answered to the letter sent days backwards by the Conmebol in which it lined to the sanction imposed on Luis Suárez of "excessive and disproportionate". The French director has referred to the preparation and validity of each one of the components of the Commission of Discipline that dictated the punishment on the Uruguayan, again adding that it treats of an independent organisation of the FIFA.

"The general secretary does not find in position to take part, comment or take measure any to influence in the decisions. We remember him that the organs jurisdiccionales of the FIFA enjoy of absolute independence to adopt his decisions and in particular do not have to receive instruction any by part of other instances", can read in the letter. "Likewise, in the particular case, reiterate him that the organs jurisdiccionales are composed of such way that all his members possess the knowledges, the faculties and the necessary specific experience that the exert of his charge requires and the same have been chosen by the Congress", adds.

Of the same way and always in a formal tone, Valcke has put to disposal of the organs suramericanos and "waiting for any another information that wish to cater in this regard". The Conmebol, in any case, announced does some days that "will make próximamente concrete proposals to improve the performance of the disciplinary organs of the FIFA", although they did not give to know any of said measures.
