LaLiga starts this weekend and Barça's offensive trident seeks to regain the Pichichi, after 10 seasons in which 7 'culés' have won the award

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona starts this Saturday its journey in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 against Mallorca. After two seasons without winning the Pichichi, the forwards of the 'azulgrana' team, led by Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, the lethal 'LRL', will seek to take the lead in scoring.

In the last ten seasons, Barça has monopolized the Pichichi in seven opportunities. Leo Messi won it five times in a row between 2016 and 2021, while Luis Suárez (2016) and 'Lewy' (2023) did the same in one season each.

The other three awards for the top scorer in the Spanish First Division went to Karim Benzema (2022 with Real Madrid), Artem Dovbyk (2024 with Girona) and Kylian Mbappé, the last winner of the award with 31 goals this 2025.

Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine: to extend their dominance in LaLiga

Between goals and assists, the 'LRL' participated in 78 of the 102 goals scored by Barça in the last League (76.4%). Real Madrid's offensive trident, although they had Kylian Mbappé as Pichichi, only produced 64 goals the previous year (82% of the team's goals).

In fact, Madrid closed the season with 78 goals scored, that is, the same amount that the 'azulgrana' offensive trident produced. Lewandowski was the team leader, with 27. In the 22/23, his debut season, he won the Pichichi with only 23 goals.

Raphinha, meanwhile, scored 18 goals, twice as many as Lamine Yamal (9). At 'Casa Blanca', Vinicius closed the season with 11 goals, while Rodrygo Goes only scored 6. Jude Bellingham, despite not being a forward, scored 3 more than the '11' of the 'blancos'.

In that sense, both Rafa and Lamine hope to fully enter the fight for the Pichichi in 25/26, knowing that the average will have to be in the order of 30 goals to have options. Mbappé, in addition to the scoring lead in Spain, also won the Golden Boot thanks to his 31 goals.

As things stand, the 'LRL' emerges again as a great threat to the rest of the 19 teams in LaLiga. Barça seeks to revalidate the title for the first time since 2019 and extend its dominance after a year where it swept the three national titles.
