Barça does not rule out Ivan Perišić as a signing. It is not a priority, but Flick knows him well and he could arrive for free if the conditions are right

The interest of FC Barcelona in Ivan Perišić gives the impression of being far from a simple rumor. The information has been corroborated by the journalist Fabrizio Romano, who recently offered details about the culés' follow-up on the experienced Croatian player.

In this sense, the operation would have as its main asset the fact that Hansi Flick knows the native of Split well, whom he already managed during his time at Bayern Múnich. Aware of the benefits he can offer, the German coach would not look unfavorably on his incorporation, regardless of his age: 36 years old.

Perišić and a great season with PSV: 16 goals and 11 assists

Beyond his experience, Hansi Flick values Perišić's great performance during the 2024/25 season with PSV Eindhoven. In that campaign, the versatile Croatian player scored 16 goals —only two less than the team's top scorer, Luuk de Jong— and 11 assists in 35 matches.

Another key aspect of the operation is that the Croatian would arrive as a free agent, since his contract with PSV expires on June 30. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch team would have offered him a two-year renewal, a proposal that the '4' was willing to accept. However, he has not yet signed the new contract, as he awaits a possible move from the Barça club.

The Croatian is not a priority, but he is liked for his experience and versatility

That said, it is important to clarify that, according to various sources, the Perišić option does not appear as a priority to reinforce the left wing. As Romano pointed out, the name that convinces Barcelona the most is that of Luis Díaz, although his signing is complex in economic terms. Marcus Rashford also appears on the list, a player that Hansi Flick especially likes to reinforce the offensive front.

Even so, the Perišić option is already on the table. He is a player who can perform well on both sides and who, given the market conditions, could represent an interesting alternative to give depth to the attack with an incorporation that, in addition, would not be incompatible with the hiring of a 'top' left winger and that at the salary level would not have a significant impact.
