'France Football' announced the winners of the Ballon d'Or gala this Monday. Pedri González, surprisingly, failed to get into the TOP-10

Pedri González finished in 11th place in the voting for the 2025 Ballon d'Or. Despite being the best midfielder in the world today, the FC Barcelona player failed to get into the TOP-10 of the award, which is presented annually by the magazine 'France Football'.

The '8' of Barça surpassed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (12th, PSG), Harry Kane (13th, Bayern Munich), Desiré Doué (14th, PSG) and Viktor Gyökeres (15th, Arsenal), in a list with surprises, as many expected to see the Canary Islander in a position much closer to the podium, as did Doué himself, a great revelation of Paris last season.

In 24/25, Pedri scored 6 goals and 8 assists in 59 matches (4,646 minutes) with the team led by Hansi Flick, being a fundamental part of the team that won the domestic treble in Spain (League, Cup and Champions League). Despite being among the nominees, the player from Tenerife did not accompany the Barcelona delegation in Paris.

Lewandowski enters in 17th place ¡and Vinicius falls to 16th place!

Further back in the Ballon d'Or list are Vinicius Jr. (16th) and Robert Lewandowski (17th). The Brazilian's drop was substantial, after finishing in second place in the 2024 edition. Many considered Vini the virtual winner last year, but finally Rodri Hernández was chosen by the voters.

Lewandowski, meanwhile, finished in 17th place after scoring 42 goals in 52 matches with Barça. The Pole should have kept the 2020 edition, but the award was suspended due to the covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, the '9' also had hopes of winning, but Leo Messi took the award.

After 'Lewy' and Vini appear in the 2025 list Scott McTominay (18th, Nápoles), Joao Neves (PSG, 19th) and Lautaro Martínez (Inter, 20th). The Argentine, like Pedri and Doué, appeared within the TOP-10 in the lists previously leaked on social networks.
