"The Balloon of Gold would have to be for a champion of the world"

In statements collected by the Agency EFE, Platini has signalled that "in a year of World-wide, the Balloon of Gold would have to be for a player champion of the world", and believes firmly that the next 12 January "will recognise the performance of a lot of European players" in the gala of delivery of the prizes in Zúrich, and after a World-wide in which Germany and Holland were of the best.
