Arbitral shame: LaLiga changed the VAR of the Madrid-Mallorca for an illegal goal of Atlético against Alavés

A controversial incident in the match between Atlético de Madrid and Alavés has caused an unexpected change in the refereeing team of Real Madrid-Mallorca. The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) decided to modify the designation of the VAR for the match at the Santiago Bernabéu for matchday 3 of LaLiga.

The X account 'Archivo VAR', which is in charge of making arbitral analyses, indicated that Pablo González Fuentes was sent to the freezer at the last minute by the CTA. Melero López replaced him in the VOR room, although the referee was supposed to be the AVAR referee.

Atlético de Madrid's goal was illegal

Atlético de Madrid added a point in their visit to Alavés (1-1). The team led by Diego Simeone were losing the match until they equalized through his son Giuliano, who scored in an illegal position.

"Terrible mistake by the VAR in Giuliano's goal. The striker is behind Sivera, so he needs two defenders behind him", was the explanation of 'Archivo VAR' on his X account, where he provides images where the illicit position of the 'colchonero' striker can be seen.

Madrid had already complained about González Fuentes
