Barça returned to winning ways in LaLiga with a brutal thrashing of Valencia (6-0). Fermín López, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski scored doubles at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
FC Barcelona added their third victory of the season thanks to another thrashing against Valencia (6-0). In the first home game for the azulgrana team in LaLiga EA Sports 25/26, Fermín López, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski carried the offensive weight for the culés, both with doubles and the '16' as MVP of the day.
Hansi Flick revolutionized the azulgrana lineup with up to six changes compared to the team that faced Rayo before the break. Without Lamine Yamal, Frenkie de Jong, Alejandro Balde and Gavi available due to injury, the coach opted for Roony Bardghji, Marc Casadó, Gerard Martín and Marcus Rashford from the start.
The Swede was the big novelty, starting in his debut in La Liga as a 'punishment' from Flick to Raphinha. The Brazilian would be a starter alongside Rashford and Ferrran Torres, but he arrived late to the activation session prior to the match. The other two variations in the XI were Pau Cubarsí and Fermín López, replacing Andreas Christensen and Dani Olmo, respectively.
A great goal from Fermín López ignited Barça
Barça didn't take too long to arrive with danger to Julen Agirrezabala's goal. Rashford and Jules Koundé warned with shots in the first five minutes, the first of them to the side of the net and the second cleared on the goal line by the 'ché' defense.
Ferran was also not sharp in the definition in the 11th minute, shooting high a good filtered pass from Fermín. The player from Huelva also tested the reflexes of the Basque goalkeeper in the 15th minute with a shot entering from the left. The mobility of the azulgrana attack found multiple 'leaks' in the Valencian defense, but the final touch was missing to break the zero.

This would arrive in the 29th minute. A great filtered pass from Pau Cubarsí from his own half allowed Ferran to enable Fermín with a first touch. The '7' broke the defensive line of Carlos Corberán's team with a remarkable technical gesture and López, marching at speed, shot the goalkeeper Agirrezabala with a crossed left-footed shot.
Despite the 1-0, Barça continued to besiege the rival area, although with little depth on the right with a somewhat nervous Bardghji. Flick sent Raphinha to warm up in the final minutes of the first half and, after the break, the Brazilian entered for the Swede.
Raphinha and Fermín destroyed Valencia in the second half
The process of the match did not vary at all after the break. Ferran sent another remarkable pass from Fermín to the post in the 49th minute and, four minutes later, Rafa finished the match with a remarkable definition, anticipating Copete after a good cross at medium height from Rashford from the right.
Unlike Bardghji, the '11' is an expert in reaching the end line and, sliding to anticipate Agirrezabala in the 53rd minute. In the next attack of Barça, Fermín López shot the rival goal again, this time with a powerful left-footed shot from medium distance, after receiving a pass from Marc Casadó.
Carlos Corberán made four changes in less than ten minutes to try to reorganize a totally broken Valencia, but the culés continued to do damage. In the 66th minute, Raphinha took advantage of an error between Copete and Gayà when trying to clear a chipped pass from Fermín. The rebound fell to the Brazilian, who wasted no time in taking out a crossed whiplash that sentenced the 4-0.
With the match settled, Flick put Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski in place of Rashford and Ferran. Then Jofre Torrents entered in place of the only negative note of the match, Gerard Martín. The full-back left with muscular discomfort and lights all the alarms ahead of the duel against Newcastle, for which Balde is a confirmed absence due to injury.
Lewandowski closed Barça's thrashing of Valencia
Just after Gerard's departure came Barcelona's fifth goal. Dani Olmo saw Lewandowski loose in the center of the area and threw a pass that surprised the Valencian central defenders again. The Pole settled to take a powerful shot, straight to the angle, inaugurating his goalscoring record in the 25/26 with his goal number 102 with the azulgrana shirt.
Taking advantage of the comfortable advantage, Hansi Flick took the opportunity to give minutes to Marc Bernal. The midfielder returned after 383 days in the azulgrana infirmary, entering for Pedri ten minutes before the end.

The '22', the most applauded by the culé fans, had the pleasure of assisting Lewandowski in the 86th minute, in a goal validated by VAR after verifying that Gayà enabled the Pole. The '9' defined with a balloon, with pure class, to close the thrashing. In their last three visits to Catalonia, Valencia received 17 goals. A real madness.
Like in the Gamper against Como, there was a total azulgrana party at the Johan Cruyff. The field of St. Joan Despí is emerging as the venue for matchday 5, next Sunday against Getafe (21:00 CEST). Valencia, meanwhile, will try to turn the page on Saturday at home against Athletic (21:00 h).
