Joan Laporta and Florentino Pérez, presidents of the FC Barcelona and of the Real Madrid, have done a conjoint demand against Javier Thebes and LaLiga for preventing the participation of both clubs in deliberations and votes of the Organ of Control of the Management of the Audiovisual Rights. A court of Madrid has admitted the complaint for attacking to the "fundamental right of association", since the situation repeated until in three occasions.

Like this it has it desvelado 'The Newspaper of Spain', the one who sustains that the two institutions were vetoed of three meetings of the patronal in which they argued the commercialisation and the exploitation of the audiovisual rights. Said events occurred on 1 March, on 12 April and on 19 May 2022 but did not go until these dates that the formality has done effective.

Barça and Madrid pose that Thebes prevented them form part of the deliberation and vote by a presumptive conflict of interests between LaLiga and the Superliga European, a competition of which are adherents and that the leader does not support. The main argument of the demand is that the Athletic of Madrid, another of the conjoint founders of the Superliga, participated with normality in the sessions without any restriction.

Origin of the veto

In the telematic meeting of 1 March in which LaLiga went to decide the commercialisation of secondary television batches like bars, Second Division and parties in open, the leader indicated to Catalans and merengues that had to abandon the room because "they give important strategic data in the audiovisual field that serve of information for the Superliga. There is a clear conflict of interests since they are competitions clarísimamente competitors between one and another", something that the teams considered like "arbitrary", "illegitimate" and "unilateral".

Any of the entities accessed to abandon the session but could not participate in the deliberation. In the two back meetings, so much Barcelona like Real Madrid were expelled of the vídeollamada of 'Zoom', something that the own general secretary of the RFEF Andreu Camps has described as "atrocity". The clubs did the conjoint demand in his moment and now has been admitted to formality by a court of Madrid in which it demands the "impugnation of agreements" for having vulnerado the "fundamental right of association" of both by have not participated in the vote.
