Dani Olmo was Barça's standout player in LaLiga Matchday 21. The Terrassa native, a starter against Oviedo, scored the first goal that set the Blaugrana on their way to a rout. He also provided an assist to Lamine Yamal just before leaving the field
FC Barcelona thrashed Real Oviedo (3-0) on matchday 21 of LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 in the Catalan team's return to Spotify Camp Nou. Dani Olmo, who was injured at the culé temple last December 2nd after scoring against Atlético de Madrid (3-1), once again found the back of the net, this time on a perfect day for the Terrassa native
The '20' made it 1-0 in the 52nd minute, after two consecutive errors by the Oviedo defense, caused by the high press of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. Dani took advantage of a loose ball inside the box to score with a cross shot, leaving the goalkeeper Aarón Escandell, who had been the standout player for the Asturians until then, with no chance
10 goals produced for Dani Olmo in 25/26
For Olmo, this was his seventh goal of the season, his sixth in the last 11 games with the Catalan team. The 27-year-old midfielder also capped off a great day with an assist for Lamine in the 73rd minute. A mid-height cross from the '20' allowed the Mataró native to invent a fantastic overhead kick that sealed the league leaders' rout.

Just after Barça's third goal, Hansi Flick brought on Marc Berrnal for Dani Olmo, who has now produced 10 goals in 24 appearances (7G/3A) this season. The Catalan footballer missed 5 league games, 2 Champions League games, and 1 Copa del Rey game due to injury, but he continues to respond to Flick's trust at very opportune moments.
Against Espanyol, on matchday 18, he also scored a great goal that paved the way for Barça's victory in Cornellà. Against Slavia Prague, he had also scored an impressive goal right after coming on, which made it 2-3 in a very difficult match for the Catalans.
"He has improved a lot in the last two games, he scores, he assists, he controls... This is what I want from him," Flick said about Olmo at the press conference after the victory against Oviedo. With Pedri injured, Dani will continue to have many opportunities in the next four weeks, during which Barça will play at least 6 key matches between the League, Cup, and Champions League.
