Barça registers Kochen, Jofre Torrents and the Fernández cousins in LaLiga

The FC Barcelona squad for 2025/26 is practically closed. After the uncertainty last week over the registrations of Joan García and Marcus Rashford, the club has decided to register four youth players from the reserve team in the first team's payroll: Diego Kochen, Jofre Torrents, Guille Fernández and Toni Fernández.

In this way, the club has 24 players enabled to play minutes in the League. In total, there are four goalkeepers, seven defenders, eight midfielders and five forwards registered on the official LaLiga website.

Barça advances with the pending registrations, but without taking risks

The registrations of Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martín and Roony Bardghji still need to be resolved, while Iñaki Peña should resolve his departure this week. The player from Alicante, together with Oriol Romeu, will free up two key slots to resolve the licenses of the three mentioned players.

The Fernández cousins, however, will continue to have a reserve team license, as will Kochen and Torrents. The American will remain as the third goalkeeper, while the left-back will lend a hand in replacing Alejandro Balde. Bardghji could also be registered with Atlètic, but the club prefers to avoid the conflict of interests.

As we previously explained in FCBN with the 'Mastantuono' case at Real Madrid, a signing registered in the reserve team should not debut in the first team without first doing so with the squad for which his federative license was enabled. Roony will not count for Barça Atlètic, so it makes no sense to enable him as a Segunda RFEF footballer.

For the moment, as goalkeepers, Iñaki Peña, Joan García, Diego Kochen and Marc-André ter Stegen appear registered. The German will be out for at least four months, so he remains without a confirmed number. Iñaki, for now, holds the '1', while Joan made his debut with the '13' against Mallorca. Kochen, however, maintains the '31' as a reserve team footballer.

As for defenders, the big news is the appearance of Jofre Torrents. The 18-year-old played 22 minutes in his debut against Mallorca and appears registered with the number '29'. Jules Koundé, Eric García, Pau Cubarsí, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen and Balde are also registered.

Héctor Fort, although he can keep the Atlètic card, has not been registered, as the full-back is set to leave in the final stretch of the market. In the midfield section there are eight registered players.

Curiously, Ferran Torres appears in this demarcation together with Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Fermín López, Dani Olmo and Marc Casadó and Guille Fernández. Marc Bernal, for now, does not appear enabled either.

Unless there is a surprise, the player from Berga will keep a reserve team card once he reappears in Hansi Flick's squads. Although he has already been medically cleared, the coaching staff has preferred to respect the year of absence initially planned after his serious knee injury.

Finally, as far as forwards are concerned, Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Toni Fernández are registered. The 17-year-old was on the bench at Son Moix and saw action in three of the four preseason friendlies, scoring a goal on the Asian tour.
