FC Barcelona closed LaLiga EA Sports 2024-25 with a victory on matchday 38. The Azulgrana team thrashed Athletic at San Mamés (0-3) and finished the season with a 4-point advantage over Real Madrid, who did the same on Saturday by defeating Real Sociedad (0-2).
Thus, Barça closed the season with 88 points, 4 more than Real Madrid. The Catalan team had already sealed the championship on matchday 36, thanks to their victory against Espanyol in Cornellà (0-2).

For Barça, the victory in Bilbao was the twenty-eighth of the season and the sixteenth by way of a thrashing in the tournament. The team won with goals from Robert Lewandowski (double) and Dani Olmo, thus surpassing one hundred goals in the season.
In total, 102 goals were scored by the Azulgrana team, reaching an average of 2.68 goals per match. This was the ninth time that the Culés have scored 100 or more goals in La Liga and the first since 16/17, with Luis Enrique on the bench.

Lewandowski (27) was the team's Pichichi and, curiously, scored the 100th goal to reach his scoring century with the club. Behind the Polish player finished Raphinha, with 18, while Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo scored 10 goals, one more than Lamine Yamal (6).
The other Azulgrana goalscorers were Fermín López and Pedri González, with 6 and 4 goals, respectively, one more than Pablo Torre (3). Another four players from the squad scored 2 goals and the same number of players scored 1 goal. With this, 16 players from the first team scored for Barça in 24/25.

LaLiga 2024/25 How did the European places and the relegation zone end up?
Atlético de Madrid, for their part, finished third with 76 points, 12 units below the Catalans and five behind Real Madrid Madrid (84). The 'Colchoneros' finished the season by crushing Girona (0-4).
Athletic Club, despite falling, finished 4th with 70 points, while Villarreal (5th) and Betis (6th) complete the qualifying places for European competitions. The 'Yellow Submarine' will be in the Champions League along with Bilbao, while Betis will have to settle for the Europa League.
Below the 'Verdiblancos' finished Celta (7th), just above Rayo (8th). Galicians and Madridians complete the European places, with the Celestes heading to the Europa League and Rayo qualifying for the Conference League.
Further back finished Osasuna (9th) and Mallorca (10th), and starting the second half of the table appear Real Sociedad (11th) and Valencia (12th), followed by Getafe (13th) and Espanyol (14th). The 'Pericos' were saved from relegation on the last matchday after defeating Las Palmas (2-0).
The relegation places were completed by Alavés (15th), Girona (16th) and Sevilla (17th). Finally, Leganés (18th), Las Palmas (19th) and Valladolid (20th) were condemned to go down to Segunda. The 'Pepineros' fought until the end, finishing just one victory away from salvation.
Of the three promoted the previous season, only Espanyol was able to maintain the category. Las Palmas, for their part, go down to Segunda after being promoted in 22/23. Rayo, seventeenth in the previous season, got into Europe, while Girona went from finishing third and playing in the Champions League to being saved from relegation by just one point.
In 25/26, Athletic returns to the Champions League after eleven years of absence and Villarreal does the same after reaching the 'semis' in 21/22 (they fell against Liverpool). Celta also returns to the Europa League after nine years, after their historic semi-final against United in 16/17.
