Matchday 6 of LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 keeps Real Madrid as the sole leader. On Tuesday, Xabi Alonso's team added their sixth consecutive victory of the season, bringing their total to 18 points out of a possible 18. FC Barcelona, for now, is second with 13 points, the same as Villarreal, and 5 points behind the 'merengues'.

At the Ciutat de Valencia, Real Madrid ended up thrashing Levante (1-4), in a match where the 'merengues' did a lot of damage on the counter. Vinicius, Franco Mastantuono, and Kylian Mbappé (double) scored the Madrid goals, while Karl Etta Eyong scored for the 'granotas'.

With the defeat, Levante remains in the lower zone of the standings with just 4 points, the result of one victory, one draw, and four defeats. Xabi Alonso, on the other hand, equaled the Brazilian Vanderlei Luxemburgo (2005) as the only coaches with a full record of victories in the first 6 matchdays of La Liga.

For Madrid, the first minutes at the Ciutat de Valencia were complex. Iván Romero and Adrián de la Fuente forgave Thibaut Courtois in the opening quarter of an hour, while Vinicius caught fire after the 20th minute.

The Brazilian opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a remarkable toe-poke finish and, ten minutes later, assisted Franco Mastantouno to leave the match almost settled before halftime.

Karl Etta Eyong scored for Levante in the 54th minute, but a penalty by Unai Elgezabal on Kylian Mbappé in the 62nd minute buried any hope of a comeback for the Valencians. The Frenchman converted the penalty in the 64th minute and, two minutes later, took advantage of an assist from Arda Güler to leave Ryan stranded and settle the dispute.

Real Madrid, in this way, ensures finishing as leaders for one more matchday, with 18 points in 6 matchdays. Levante, on the other hand, dropped to 16th place. At the same time, Villarreal obtained a valuable away victory against Sevilla (1-2).

The 'Yellow Submarine' took the lead in the 17th minute thanks to a goal from Tani Oluwaseyi. The 'Hispalenses' equalized in the 51st minute with a goal from Djibril Sow, but Villarreal took all three points at the end with another goal from Manor Solomon in the 87th minute.

With the victory, Marcelino García's team equals FC Barcelona's line, with 13 points, but the team led by Hansi Flick maintains second place due to having a better goal difference (+13). The 'Culés' visit Real Oviedo on Thursday (21:30), with the obligation to win to be again 2 points behind Madrid.
