Robert Lewandowski put FC Barcelona ahead on Sunday against Sevilla when the clock hit the 7th minute. This is the eighth time that the '9' has given the Catalans the lead in a league match.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona took the lead against Sevilla in the 7th minute, thanks to a stunning goal from Robert Lewandowski. The Pole anticipated Juanlu Sánchez to finish off a great header from Iñigo Martínez, following a perfect cross from Raphinha. Barcelona couldn't maintain the lead for more than a minute, but the '9' continues to improve his records in the 2024/25 season alongside a Barcelona team that, in just 53 matches, has already equaled its scoring record from last season (110). Of those, 31 (28.18%) have been scored by the 'killer'.

With his goal in the 7th minute, the sixth he has scored against Sevilla in as many matches, 'Lewy' became the player who has scored the first goal for his team the most times in LaLiga this season (8). Following him is Ante Budimir (6 goals), while Kylian Mbappé and Julián Álvarez have done so on 6 occasions. Additionally, Robert reached 19 goals in the tournament, maintaining the distance from Mbappé in the top scorer standings ('Kiki' has 16).

Lewandowski's records in LaLiga 2024/25 are impressive

Likewise, Lewandowski continues to improve his impressive records in the 24/25 season. After the first half at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, the Pole maintains an average of 1 goal every 90 minutes and 1.78 shots on target (he has 34). Mbappé, on the other hand, scores every 114 minutes in LaLiga and, despite shooting more at the opponent's goal (50), he only manages to score every 3.12 shots on target, according to 'Míster Chip' statistics.

And, collectively, Barcelona took the lead again in the first 10 minutes for the second consecutive match. Valencia suffered the first goal of the 'handful' at Mestalla in the 3rd minute. In fact, in LaLiga, the team has managed to repeat this feat in three of the last four matchdays. Getafe (9') and Valencia (again in the 3') were the victims of the Blaugrana attack in the early stages of their matches. Alavés, on the other hand, held out for 61 minutes last week.
